4 juveniles arrested for breaking into Holmdel house

HOLMDEL — Four juveniles were charged last week with breaking into a house on South Beers Street while the residents were on vacation. The four, ages 12-14, were arrested at the scene.

Patrols were called to the residence at about 5:45 p.m. on July 18 after a family friend who was house sitting found a door open.

The first arriving officer heard voices inside the house, and after searching the home, discovered the four male juveniles, all Holmdel residents.

Police said the four entered the house by forcing a window open and appeared to have been using it as a hangout while the homeowners were away.

All four are charged with burglary because they allegedly broke into the house. One of the juveniles was also charged with possession of burglary tools, and one was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance after he was found to have a small amount of marijuana. All of the juveniles were released to their parents.
