Town dedicates skating and roller hockey rink

Members of the Aberdeen Township Council formally dedicated the municipality’s new in-line skating/roller hockey rink in Cliffwood Beach Park on July 17.

The rink, constructed on the former site of the park’s tennis courts, was created for daily recreational in-line skating, as well as open hockey.

Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Mayor David Sobel, Deputy Mayor Owen Drapkin and council members Nick Minutolo, Joe Raymond, Vincent Vinci and Lionel Wilson. Joining them was Jim Colabelli, director of recreation.

The recreation department is currently seeking volunteers to run a youth hockey league. Interested individuals may call Jim Colabelli at (732) 583-4200, ext. 129.
