Gingerbread workshop at Poricy Park Dec. 2

Poricy Park, Oak Hill Road, Middletown, will present a workshop on gingerbread houses Dec. 2 from 1:30-3 p.m. The program is suitable for adults and children age 12 and older.

Prebaked and assembled houses must be ordered prior to Nov. 28. Cost is $18 for members and $25 for nonmembers, which includes candy and supplies to decorate the house. For more information or to register, call (732) 842-5966.

St. Mary’s PTA to hold Christmas fair Dec. 1

St. Mary’s PTA, 538 Church St., New Monmouth section of Middletown, will hold its annual Christmas craft fair Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2 for adults, and children enter free.

The fair will feature crafters, homemade baked goods, a raffle and refreshments. For more information, call the school at 671-0129.

Sons of American Legion

No. 338 breakfast Dec. 9

Sons of the American Legion Squadron No. 338, Leonardo section of Middletown, will hold an "all you can eat" breakfast Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The breakfast will include eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, pancakes, French toast, and beverages. It will be at the post hall on Route 36, Leonardo. Tickets are $5, $4 for seniors, and $3 for children age 12 and younger.

High school to present ‘Soft Soap’ Dec. 6-9

Matawan Regional High School, Atlantic Avenue, Aberdeen, will present the production Soft Soap Dec. 6-8 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.

First annual talent show applications available

The Middletown Arts Advisory Council is currently seeking performers for the "First Annual Middletown Talent Showcase" slated for Feb. 23. The showcase will highlight vocal, instrumental, dance and drama accomplishments of performers age 5 and older.

Auditions will be Jan. 12, 16, 17, and 19 at the gymnasium at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road, Middletown, and are open to Middletown residents only. Auditions will be approximately two to three minutes in length. Age groups will be age 5-12, 13-18, and adult.

Performers must commit to attending rehearsals which will be Feb. 2, 9, and 13; and a dress rehearsal Feb. 21. The showcase will be Feb. 23.

Audition applications may be picked up at the parks and recreation office at Croydon Hall, Middletown Town Hall, and township libraries. Forms must be submitted by Dec. 20 and require a $5 per person fee. For more information, call the parks and recreation office at (732) 615-2260.
