Brookdale showcase
to benefit relief fund

The Brookdale performing arts center, in conjunction with 90.5 The Night, will sponsor eight hours of concert performances Sept. 14 to benefit the "Brookdale 9/11 Relief Fund." The first event begins at 3 p.m., with the second to follow at 8 p.m. Both series will be at the performing arts center’s main theater.

The relief fund was created by the Brookdale Foundation Board of Trustees, and will provide funds to help offset the cost of books and supplies for Monmouth County dependents, including spouses of individuals killed in the Sept. 11 attacks. All the monies raised for the fund are used for only this purpose and are tax deductible.

The artist lineups (order of appearance) are:

3 p.m. show—Jill Sobule, Josh Ritter, Virginia, Michael Ferentino & Andres Karu, Jabberpony, John Carlin, Nicole Atkins and Shannon McNally.

8 p.m. show—J. Pat, Mellow George, Spike Priggen, Chrisie Santoni and New Family, Val Emmich, Mimi Cross, Crown Jewels, Kevin Salem, David Poe and Marshall Crenshaw.

Tickets range from $25 (one show, student rate) to $50 (general public, both shows). For information or to purchase tickets, call the box office at (732) 224-2411.
