Parks to offer various art classes in January

The Monmouth County Park System will offer "Great Impressionism for Aspiring Young Artists" for children age 8-15 Jan. 8 from 4-5:30 p.m. Cost is $20.

"Claude Monet Painting Class for Children (level two)" for children age 8-15 that participated in the level one class Jan. 10 from 4-5:30 p.m. Cost is $20. Preregistration is required for both, to be at Thompson Park craft center, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.

Auditions for the park system’s presentation of Pied Piper will be Jan. 17 from 7-8:30 p.m., and Jan. 18 from 2-3:30 p.m. Auditions are for children age 8-18 and will be at Tatum Park Red Hill Road activity center, Middletown. There is a production workshop fee of $75 for each cast member, payable at first rehearsal.

Rehearsals will be Mondays and Fridays from 7-9 p.m., and Sundays from 4-6 p.m. Jan. 27-March 17. Dress rehearsals are March 18-20 from 7-9 p.m. Production dates are March 21-23.
