Keyport street fair, ‘Battle of Bands’ Aug. 1-3 Keyport Business Alliance will host the "Mid-Summer Street Fair" on Aug. 1-3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The fair will be at West Front Street between Main Street and Broad Street. It will feature arts and crafts, musicians, live performances, and sales at Keyport shops. The "Battle of the Bands" will also be Aug. 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Stop & Shop, routes 35 and 36. Local bands scheduled to compete include Nemo, consisting of Joe Parisi, Mike Carpano and Ilia Fountoukidis of Holmdel High School; Drive, with Tom Neff, Doug Mikula, Michael Vernon and Mike Neff of Tinton Falls; Local Hero, with Jason Iverson, Freehold, Bill Soyak and Lulo Bacelo, Old Bridge, and Greg Ylagan, Middletown; and Exit 117, with Bayshore natives Mike Gricko, Tony "Astronaut Jones" Costa" and Charlie Luca. Top prize will be recording and video production time at Unreal Productions, Keyport, and a featured appearance at the "San Gennaro Festival," Sept. 21 in Freehold. Second place is $75 worth of "Bid bucks" for Keyport stores, and a $100 gift certificate to Notable Music, Middletown; and third prize is $25 worth of Bid bucks and two hours of free rehearsal time at Killin’ Time Rehearsal Studio, Keansburg.
