Battle of Monmouth talk slated for Oct. 5

The Keyport Historical Society will present "Battle of Monmouth, Molly Pitcher and 42nd Highlanders" by Dan Silivich Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Steamboat Dock Museum, Broad Street, Keyport.

A presentation about the Battle of Mon­mouth will be given, followed by light desserts and re­freshments.

The society’s seventh annual Victorian tea and fashion show "If Teacups Could Talk" will be held Oct. 25 from 1-4 p.m. at The Keyport Yacht Club, 115 First St.

Vintage clothing will be modeled by the Keyport Performing Arts Ensemble. Guests are encouraged to dress up in pe­riod outfits and bring a teacup. The event will feature tea, sandwiches, desserts, gifts and prizes.
