CPC Behavioral Healthcare, Red Bank, will team with Test Sports Club of Red Bank, 283 Route 35, to celebrate Mental Health Month during May with a health awareness event May 14 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Open to the public, the event will feature a variety of health activities such as measuring resting heart rate, body fat analysis, blood pressure, and an obstacle course. The women in business committee of the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce will present a luncheon featuring Ken Daneyko of the New Jersey Devils Speaker’s Bureau May 20 at The Lincroft Inn, 700 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown. Daneyko is one of just five members of all three of New Jersey’s Stanley Cup Championship teams, and appeared in 1,283 career regular-season NHL games. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation, and limited time will be available for autographs. The luncheon, sponsored by Epiphany House, will begin with networking at 11:45 a.m., followed by lunch and program at noon. Advance registration is $30 for nonmembers and $25 for members (extra $5 for walk-ins). The chamber and the VIP season ticket sales department of the PNC Bank Arts Center will host and sponsor an "after-hours networking event" May 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel. Holmdel resident Melinda Staiger, M.D., medical director at the Jacqueline M. Wilentz comprehensive breast center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, was recently elected to the board of advisers of the American Cancer Society’s Jersey Shore Region. She joined the Shrewsbury-based office’s volunteer board that consists of 36 members. Staiger joined Monmouth in 2002, and has more than 20 years’ experience in breast imaging at major institutions in the Northeast. Prior to joining Monmouth, she was director of breast imaging at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, West Islip, N.Y., for seven years. She received her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at New York University Medical Center. Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, recently announced the tenure and promotions of 18 of its faculty. Promoted to professor and associate professor status was professor Barbara Tozzi, Middletown. Receiving tenure and promotion was assistant professor Patricia Dillon, also from Middletown. The new group Monmouth County GOP for Change has announced it will launch the Web site www.mcgopforchange.com May 6. The site will serve as a regular news and information source for Republicans in Monmouth County seeking to restore democracy to the Monmouth County Republican Party. Monmouth County GOP for Change, led by co-chairmen Bob McKenna (Wall Township GOP municipal chair) and John Merla (mayor and Keyport municipal chair), has members in more than 25 Monmouth County municipalities. It is espousing a platform of appointing regional directors from five area of the county to preside over the operations of the Monmouth County GOP.
