Priscilla Mills recently completed basic training for the U.S. Marine Corps at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. During recruit training, she learned about military customs and courtesies, first aid and a variety of military related subjects. Marine Corps boot camp is a rigorous training period designed to enhance talent, build teamworking skills and create moral discipline. Mills is a 2000 graduate of Middletown High School North and the daughter of Tammy and Ronald Mills, of the Belford section of Middletown.

Air Force Airman Charles G. Rooney III recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, Rooney studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, he earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. A 2001 graduate of St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, Rooney is the son of Donna Rooney of Keyport.

Navy Ensign Renee M. Runyon recently graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned to her current rank. A 1996 graduate of Middletown High School North, she will be assigned to the Bonhomme Richard, San Diego, Calif.
