Obituaries Mr. Janowski, 84, of Matawan died June 23 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was born in Old Bridge. He was a retired machine operator at Farmers Feed, Newark. Born in Queens, N.Y., he resided in Comack, N.Y., before moving to Hazlet 42 years ago. He was a retired boiler-room operator at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, where he was employed several years. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Schroeder is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine Alexander Schroeder; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Eve and Joe Findeis of Lakewood, Calif., Janet and Gerard Pomar of Whiting, Leslie Schroeder of Hazlet, Laura and Frank Cristell of Wall, Mary Schroeder of Jackson, and Kelly Schroeder of Hazlet; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Cassie Schroeder of Hazlet; three sisters, Edith Van Liew of West Palm, Fla., Eileen Jamison of Brick, and May Kerr of Whiting; and eight grandchildren. She was a retired medical transcriptionist at Atlantic City Medical Center, where she was employed for 20 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester Zank, in 1981. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Frances Zank of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and James Grey of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Mary Monks of Avalon and Esther Rosa of Hampton Bay, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a past member and president of St. Agnes School P.T.A., Atlantic Highlands, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Oceanport. She was predeceased by her husband, Maj. Michael J. Connors, in 1968; and two sons, Richard J. in 1979 and Robert F. in 2002. She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Thomas F. and Virginia C. Connors of Toms River, Michael J. Connors Jr. of Monticello, N.Y., and Edward J. Connors of Newport News, Va.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Florence J. and J. Robert Sagurton of Little Silver, and Joan D. Young Mr. Young, 75, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died June 20 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Eatontown before moving to Lincroft 38 years ago. Mr. Young was a communications management specialist at Computer Science Corp. Prior to that, he was employed at the Department at Defense, Fort Monmouth, where he was employed 38 years before retiring. He also pitched in minor league baseball early in his life, and was drafted by the former St. Louis Browns. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Laverty Young; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas C. and Emer Young of Long Branch, and William M. and Myra Young of Manahawkin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Wallenstein of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Donna A. and James Daly of Westhampton; and eight grandchildren. Curley Mr. Curley, 81, of the New Monmouth section of Middletown, died July 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Holmdel, he was a lifelong resident of Middletown. Mr. Curley was a machinist at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 45 years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an usher at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, for several years. He was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown, and a member of the Middletown Lions Club. Mr. Curley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amelia Lauer Curley; a son, Thomas M. Curley Jr. of Cumming, Ga.; two daughters, Kathleen C. Brooks of Severna Park, Md., and Nancy C. Androvich of Middletown; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be July 8 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Attardi Mr. Attardi, 70, died June 17 at the Hospice Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Neptune, he resided in Long Branch the past 68 years. Mr. Attardi served with the U.S. Army from 1954-56 and was honored with four medals as a military policeman. He attended Valley Forge Military Academy, where he was named to the All-America Football Team in 1954. He was also elected to the Long Branch Athletic Hall of Fame for football in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Frances "Snooky" Tortoretti Attardi; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Colleen Cole-Hatchard Attardi of Middletown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Michelle and Dr. James Fay of Manasquan, and Francine Attardi of Long Branch; two sisters, Anne Ducey of Long Branch and Gloria Sorrentino of West Long Branch; two grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. Mary Totillo Mrs. Totillo, 94, of Matawan died June 25 at Madison Center, Matawan. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Old Bridge prior to moving to Matawan. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, Dominick; and a son, Raymond. She is survived by her daughter, Angelina Correnti of Manalapan; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Ambrose Church. Michael Flanagan Mr. Flanagan, 65, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died June 30 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in County Laois, Ireland, he relocated to the United States in 1967 and had been a resident of Lincroft for the past 24 years. Mr. Flanagan was a mechanic at General Motors, Linden, for 25 yeas, retiring in 2000. Prior to that, he was employed at Midland Glass for nine years. He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. Mr. Flanagan was predeceased by a brother, Jim Flanagan. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Rafferty Flanagan; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Flanagan of Howell; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Paul Bailey of Lincroft; four brothers, Dan, Tony, Patty and John, all of Ireland; three sisters, Betty and Nellie, of Ireland, and Maureen of Scotland; and one grandson.
