Obituaries Daniel Charles Smith, 42, of Old Bridge, formerly of Aberdeen and Keyport, died Sept. 11 at home. Surviving are his mother, Bernadette McDonald-Smith of Old Bridge; a brother, Richard H. Smith of Old Bridge; a sister, Geraldine A. Opitz of Howell; and two nephews and two nieces. Services were held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. Emily Weiss Balletta Emily Weiss Balletta, 93, of Barnegat, formerly of Sayreville, died Sept. 10 in South Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Her husband, Martin A. Balletta, died in 1989. Surviving are a daughter, Emily M. Balletta, with whom she lived; a son, Martin H. Balletta of Barnegat; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a friend, Anna Balletta of Hazlet. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Gail A. Liftchild Sleavin; a son, William J. of Simsbury, Conn.; two daughters, Carolyn Coppola of Holmdel and Alice E. Sleavin of East Brunswick; a sister, Linda Weiss of Floral Park, N.Y.; a granddaughter; and a nephew. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Tolentino Farparan Mrs. Farparan, 69, of Keyport died Sept. 28 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Newark, she resided in Old Bridge before moving to Keyport six years ago. Mrs. Farparan was a member of St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Farparan, in 1997. She is survived by six sons, Raymond Farparan of Union Beach, Anthony and Mark Farparan, both of Old Bridge, Vincent Farparan of Red Bank, and Albert and Matthew Farparan, both of Keyport; two daughters, Teresa Kolbinskie of Parlin and Alicia Preyer of Brick; a brother, James Tolentino of Keansburg; a sister, Claire Trogani of Montville; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Oct. 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, 237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy. Julia McIntosh Mrs. McIntosh, 58, of Lincoln Park died Sept. 15 at Lincoln Park Care Center. Born in New York City, she resided in Middletown prior to moving to Lincoln Park five years ago. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her parents, Mildred and Edward Babkewicz of Palisades Park; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward and Felicia McIntosh of Middletown, and James McIntosh of Harrison; her daughter, Kelly McIntosh of Old Bridge; two sisters, Ruth Carey of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., and Mildred Ariemma of Randolph; and one grandson. Kerri Ann Angersbach Maddock Mrs. Maddock, 33, of Brick died Sept. 28 following a battle with cancer. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Hazlet before moving to Brick eight years ago. Mrs. Maddock was a manager in the billing department at Merrill Lynch, Princeton. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her father, John Angersbach. She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Maddock; her mother, Jane Rush Tuero of Hazlet; two daughters, Morgan Nicole and Kaitlyn Amanda, both at home; three brothers, Christopher Tuero and Michael Tuero, both of Hazlet, and Bryan Tuero of North Arlington; her maternal grandmother, Janet Rush of Holmdel; her paternal grandfather, John Angersbach of Hazlet; her mother- and father-in-law, Katherine and Raymond Maddock of Hazlet; two sisters-in-law; two stepsisters; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Rosemary E. Lambertson Sommer Mrs. Sommer, 85, of Keyport died Sept. 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Perth Amboy, she was a lifelong resident of Keyport. Mrs. Sommer was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was a member and past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4247 Ladies Auxiliary, Keyport. She was also active with the Keyport Recreation Commission. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sommer, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette and George Ward of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Sidney Lambertson and Alfred Lambertson, both of Keyport; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Panarella Mr. Panarella, 87, of Middletown died Sept. 16 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Middletown 24 years ago. He was the owner/operator of A-bel Toy, Brooklyn, retiring 22 years ago. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Aquilino Panarella of Middletown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Olympia and Steve Hydeck, and Nancy and Sal Moscuzza, all Middletown; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Vincent and Betty Panarella of New York City, and Sal Panarella of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. George G. Enjeian Mr. Enjeian, 88, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Sept. 20 at home. Born in Newark, he resided in Brick and Maplewood before moving to Belford one year ago. Mr. Enjeian was a retired postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Newark, where he was employed for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the New Jersey Umpire Association for Minor Leagues. Mr. Enjeian was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Enjeian, in 2000. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Enjeian of Belford, and Barbara and James Bibby of Brick; and two grandchildren. She was a sales associate for Macy’s department store in Brooklyn for 20 years, before retiring in 1996. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry, in 1996. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sandra Press of Matawan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Don Fletcher of Queens, N.Y., Fran and Stephen Durante of Marlboro, and Donna and Tom Lacorazza of Marlboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pat Passalaqua of Staten Island; a sister, Rose Bresnick of Santee, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. Eltringham Blackmon Mrs. Blackmon, 77, of Holmdel died Sept. 25 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Tamoque, Pa., she had resided in the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen prior to moving to Holmdel. A homemaker, she was active at the Greenville Reformed Church, Jersey City. She was a former councilwoman in Jersey City and was active in the Democratic Club of Jersey City for several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Elgin Blackmon, in 1993; and a brother, Thomas Eltringham. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Plummer of Cliffwood Beach and Avanelle M. Farmer of Florida; four sons, Walter Blackmon of Toms River, Robert Blackmon of Effort, Pa., George Blackmon of Manahawkin, and Edward Blackmon of Fairfield, Calif.; three brothers, Douglas Eltringham, Robert Eltringham and Charles Eltringham; five sisters, Virginia Mills, Eilleen Evans, Lahoma Wyant, Marcia Martin and Mary Ragno; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Corinne Beissig Murphy; a son, Robert of East Brunswick; two daughters, Maureen of Flemington and Lynn of Guttenberg; his mother, Mary O’Neill Murphy of Staten Island, N.Y.; a brother, James of Matawan; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Joseph B. Habig Mr. Habig, 79, of Tinton Falls died Sept. 21 in Middletown of Parkinson’s disease. Born in New York City, he lived in Holmdel for nine years prior to moving to Tinton Falls. He was executive producer in the music division at Reader’s Digest for 16 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he was an artists’ and repertoire producer at RCA Victor Red Seal for 19 years. He also worked 10 years as a trombonist with several symphony orchestras, and was a Grammy Award winner for producing Stravinsky’s "Symphony of Psalms." He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Harlow Habig. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements. |
