      Gertrude L. Spafford Ellison

      Mrs. Ellison, 88, of Keyport, died Nov. 29 at Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Born in Matawan, she was a lifelong resident of Keyport. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. She was predeceased by her husband, Jud Ellison; five brothers, George, Francis, William, Donald and Clare Spafford; and a sister, Stella Spafford-Flannelly. She is survived by four sisters-in-law, Maude Spafford, of Aberdeen, Lillian Spafford, of Morganville, Angie Spafford, of Florida, and Madelyn Spafford, of Bordentown; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

      Florence Angersbach Kunz

      Mrs. Kunz, 94, of Sayreville, died Nov. 30 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Sayreville most of her life. She was a retired employed at E.I. DuPont Photo Products, Sayreville. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Kunz in 1989. She is survived by a brother, Raymond Angersbach, of Keyport; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

      George J. Platoni

      Mr. Platoni, 67, of Middletown, died Dec. 3 at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. Born in New York City, he resided in Staten Island, N.Y., prior to moving to Middletown 30 years ago. He was employed at Air Cruisers, Wall, for 12 years, retiring five years ago. He served with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a 40-year member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed boats, and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara Gelling Platoni; a sister, Joan Pittius, of Staten Island, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Entombment was at Holmdel Cemetery. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

      Geraldine Teresa Lee

      Mrs. Lee, 78, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Dec. 10 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided in Queens, N.Y., for several years prior to moving to Belford. She was a telemarketer at Consumer Surveys Inc., Long Island, N.Y., from 1980-86. She was predeceased by her husband, George Lee in 1980. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and I Sun Hoffman of Maryland; a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Richard Policano of Belford; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Interment was at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, N.Y. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.       Dorothy A. Pritchard Bullock

      Mrs. Bullock, 94, of Keyport, died Dec. 10 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Hoboken, she resided in the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Matawan, prior to moving to Keyport six years ago. She was an assembler at Walter Kitty Manufacturing, Bloomfield, for 20 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Keyport Senior Citizens, and Eatontown Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Bullock in 1990; and two sons, Richard Bullock and Lewis Bullock. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Bullock of San Diego; a daughter, Shirley LaMorte of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Interment was at Wayside United Methodist Cemetery, Wayside section of Ocean Township. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

      Ruth Schneier

      Mrs. Schneier, 85, of Manalapan, died Dec. 3 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in the New York area for more than 50 years before moving to Manalapan 30 years ago. She was a founding member and past president of the Ocean Parkway Chapter of B’nai B’rith; a life member of Deborah; and a member of Seniors First at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Schneier was predeceased in March by her husband of 62 years, Sidney. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and James Groelinger, of Mahwah; a brother, Ira Nydick, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.       Joan M. Wendolek Bulvanoski

      Mrs. Bulvanoski, 69, of Matawan, died Dec. 7 at home. Born in South Amboy, she resided in the Morgan section of South Amboy prior to moving to Matawan 41 years ago. She was a bookkeeper at Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District the past 27 years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She enjoyed time with her family, gardening, and travel. She was predeceased by three brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Chester Bulvanoski; three daughters and one son-in-law, Marianne Casper, of Matawan, Jennifer Bulvanoski, of Plainsboro, and Christina and Scott Neumann, of Glen Mills, Pa.; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Church, with entombment at the church’s mausoleum. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.       Douglas R. Sanderson

      Mr. Sanderson, 78, of Red Bank, died Dec. 12 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation of Red Bank. Born in Ossining, N.Y., he resided in Red Bank the past 25 years. He was a retired golf professional at Rumson Country Club, where he was employed 24 years. Prior to that, he was an assistant golf pro at Canoe Brook Country Club, Summit. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Professional Golf Association and enjoyed photography. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara in 2001. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Lenore Sanderson of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Peter Lucyk of Red Bank; a brother and sister-in-law, Allan J. and Marge Sanderson of Osseo, Wis.; and three grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held Dec. 16 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.       Mrs. Sherman, 60, of Keansburg, died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Newark, she resided there prior to moving to Keansburg in 1972. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She enjoyed time with her family and bingo. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Sherman in 1994, a daughter, Carolyn Andalora Hazzard in 1995, and a sister, Geneieve Tamarato in 1982. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Charlene Andalora, Steven Andalora, and Bill and June Sherman, all of Keansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Ralph Gencarelli of Keansburg, and Jody and Bill Sherman of the Leonardo section of Middletown; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Frank Corso of Hazlet, Debra and Harry Paule of Belford, and Barbara and Bill August of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Rose Young of Manalapan, and Kevin and Donna Young of Jackson; and eight grandchildren. A funeral gathering will be Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

      Frances Rospondek

      Mrs. Rospondek, 98, of Middletown, died Dec. 11 at home. Born in Poland, she resided in Hackensack prior to moving to Middletown six years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Marion, in 1955. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janine and John Kohlmann of Middletown. Visitation will be Dec. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be Dec. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a liturgy at 9:30 a.m. St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial will be in Deering, N.H.

      Frederick W. Becker Sr.

      Mr. Becker, 81, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, died Dec. 9 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Keansburg prior to moving to West Keansburg 56 years ago. He was a plant service manager at Ford Motor Co., Edison, for more than 30 years, retiring 25 years ago. He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 4303, West Keansburg. He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta Becker in 1994. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Rose Becker Jr. of Oak Grove, Ariz..; five daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Edward Barriga of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mary and Dale Lebsack of Atlanta; Catherine and Zack LaPlante of Toano, Va.; Marion and Thomas Calabrese of West Keansburg; and Marguerite and Jeffrey Bellavance of Beachwood; a brother, Edward Becker of Middletown; a sister, Patricia Regan of Keansburg; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.       Anthony F. DeLauro

      Mr. DeLauro, age 85, of West Long Branch died Nov. 26 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Weehawken, he resided in Long Branch prior to moving to West Long Branch 48 years ago. He was the Post Master at the U.S. Postal Service, Long Branch, for 11 years, retiring in 1987. He was a past state president of the New Jersey National Association of Postal Supervisors. He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of and usher at of St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. He was a West Long Branch councilman, a commissioner for the West Long Branch Fire Co. No. 2. His memberships included the Knights of Columbus, Long Branch, Long Branch Elks No. 742, and the Republican Club, West Long Branch. He also served as past president of the Long Branch Exchange Club; and Italian American Men’s Association, Long Branch. He was predeceased by four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Grandinetti DeLauro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Anthony and Donna DeLauro, of the Navesink section of Middletown, and Louis DeLauro, of Long Branch; a daughter, Angela DeLauro, of Long Branch; a sister, Mary Brotons, of Lake Parsippany; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Jerome’s Church. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.       Louise Erickson Bremner

      Mrs. Bremner, 68, of Hazlet, died Dec. 3 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in Matawan the past 10 years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by her husband, George Bremner; a son and daughter-in-law, George and MaryAnn Bremner Jr., of Matawan; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, with interment at the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
