Obituaries Mr. Lewis, 53, of Keyport died May 9 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Hoboken, he resided in West New York prior to moving to Keyport in 1955. He was a self-employed plumber and owner of Pipes R Us, Keyport, which he opened in 1984. He enjoyed fishing. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Lewis; and a brother, Wayne Lewis. He is survived by his mother, Irene Labrosse Lewis of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen; a son, Bruce Lewis of Florida; a brother, Thomas Lewis of Sayreville; a stepsister; and one niece. Visitation will be today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A funeral service will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Marie Mienert Mrs. Mienert, 89, of Matawan died May 2 at Madison Center, Matawan. Born in Jersey City, she had resided in Manasquan Park for more than 45 years before moving to Matawan. Mrs. Mienert was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred E. Mienert, in 1976. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Edmonds of California and Barbara Tuttle of Old Bridge; and three grandchildren. Born in Baird, Pa., she resided in New York City prior to moving to Middletown 40 years ago. Miss Baga was a social worker in New York City, retiring in 1971. She was a member of the adoration group and senior citizens group at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lena Woerz and Rose Martin; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Jo Baga; and a nephew, Daniel Woerz. Miss Baga is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Louis and Beatrice Baga of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Victor Baga of Ijamsville, Md.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral gathering will take place May 14 at 9:45 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Born in Montclair, she resided in Belleville prior to moving to Aberdeen 45 years ago. She was a school bus driver for Marlboro Board of Education for 22 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Keyport. She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Ferrell of Aberdeen; two daughters, Diane Vance of Avenel and Naomi Ruehlman of Aberdeen; a brother, Robert Miller of Morganville; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Born in New York City, he resided in Staten Island and traveled with the U.S. Air Force until 1971, prior to moving to Toms River. He as a professional golfer that competed in several U.S. Open qualifying tournaments and local tournaments. He was also a golf teacher at Renaissance Golf Club, Manchester. Prior to that, he was an assistant pro at Emerson Country Club, and Rockland Country Club, Sparkill, N.Y. He also volunteered his skills for the annual Special Olympics in Monmouth and Ocean counties. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Winefride Holt Duffy; and a brother, Charles Duffy, in 1998. He is survived by two brothers, William Duffy of Sandy Hook, Conn., and Gerard Duffy of Middletown; a sister, Christine Lenaghan of Hazlet; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Linden prior to moving to Matawan 16 years ago. He was employed by International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 68, Caldwell, for more than 20 years before his retirement. He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Richard and Robert Gomulka Sr.; and a sister, Marie Gomulka. Mr. Gomulka is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gomulka; two sons, John Gomulka of Mount Olive, N.C., and Kenneth Gomulka of Weston, Fla.; two daughters, Lorraine Madden of Cranford and Cynthia Festa of Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, Joseph Gomulka of Navarre, Fla.; a sister, Josephine Ficarra of Elizabeth; two stepsons; a stepdaughter; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will take place May 12 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. She was a member of the Matawan Shade Tree Commission. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Church. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.Willard Douglas Watkins Mr. Watkins, 94, of Tinton Falls died April 30 at Kensington Court Assisted Living, Tinton Falls, where he resided. Born in New York City, he resided in Red Bank, and Florida for 28 years, prior to moving to Tinton Falls. He was a retired civilian machinist at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, Atlantic Highlands. He was the oldest living firefighter and past fire chief of Relief Engine Company, Red Bank. He was also a former code enforcer and fire marshal. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virginia Hurley Watkins; his children, Doug and Fran Watkins of Jackson, Bill and Pat Weber of Keyport, Bob and Joan Weber of North Carolina, Terrie Judd of California, Patti and Richie Brister of Fair Haven, and Frank "Dusty" Bublin of Little Silver; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Ann Watkins; a sister, Mildred Portune; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He enjoyed time with his family. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Rizzo. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Simeone Rizzo of Hazlet; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Robert Anghelone of Sayreville; and one nephew. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Roselle prior to moving to Monmouth County in 1974. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was employed at Prudential, Holmdel, and Sears, Middletown. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Wilbert and Raymond Rigby. She is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Walsh; two sons, John D. Walsh of Princeton, and Joseph W. Walsh of West Redding, Conn.; two daughters, Alice M. Walsh Renales of Roselle, and Carol A. Walsh Van Severen of Red Bank; a brother, Gerald Rigby of Colonia; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A memorial service was at St. Benedict’s Church.
