The Monmouth County Board of Freeholders has announced the county’s 23-foot pump-out boat, the Royal Flush began operation June 10, and will continue to flush raw sewage from pleasure craft in the area of the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers. During its first two weeks of operation, the boat pumped 5,500 gallons of sewage servicing 147 boats on the two rivers. The Royal Flush was purchased in 2001 for $50,000.
