Obituaries Mrs. Tumia, 85, of Red Bank, died July 25 in Titusville, Fla. Formerly of Lincroft, she had been a resident of Red Bank since 1979. Mrs. Tumia was an assistant director of activities for the Holmdel Convalescent Center, Holmdel, retiring in 1974. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Louis J. Tumia; a son, Kenneth Tumia of Red Bank; two daughters, Marylou Gittleson of Rumson and Shirleyann Bzdewka of Hazlet; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by interment at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Margaret Liberti Mrs. Liberti, 93, of Keansburg, died Aug. 16 at Laurel Bay Health & Rehabilitation Center, Keansburg. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and had lived there and in Middletown before moving to Keansburg eight years ago. Mrs. Liberti was predeceased by her husband, Victor Liberti, in 1963; and a son, Paul Liberti, in 1989. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Louis A. and Jan Liberti of Cornwallville, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Adelaide and Robert Coslian of Middletown, and Rosina and Robert Erikson of Anaheim, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Frederick William Smith Mr. Smith, 96, of California, died Aug. 15 at Extended Care Center at Riverside, Riverside, Calif. Born in Congress, N.Y., he had lived in Port Monmouth before moving to Perris, Calif., seven years ago. Mr. Smith was employed by the state of New Jersey for 20 years before his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Grace Collins Smith, in 1995; two sisters, Gladys Dellarina and Augusta Brown; and a brother, Albert Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by a son, James Smith of Long Branch; two daughters, Catherine Jackson of Riverside, Calif., and Grace Tonks of Wall; and six grandchildren. Odilie Hernandez Mrs. Hernandez, 77, of Atlantic Highlands, died Aug. 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, she had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Atlantic Highlands 10 years ago. Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her husband, Francisco; a son, Alvaro of Secaucus; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maritza LeCatta of Hazlet, Leticia and Richard Martin of Sparta, and Ligia and Lloyd Good of Freehold; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was born and raised in Manhattan, N.Y. Mrs. Piccolo was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Piccolo, in 1995. Surviving are a son, Michael Piccolo of Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Marianna and George Gencarelli of Middletown; a sister, Elizabeth Carrano of Staten Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Formerly of Rumson, he had resided in Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, for the past two years. Mr. Kissam was a transportation director for Getty Oil Co., New York City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retiring as a lieutenant. Mr. Kissam was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Rumson; a longtime member and secretary of the Rootbeer and Checker Club, Fair Haven; and a longtime member and treasurer of the Lions Club in Red Bank. He was active in extending hospitality to foreign military trainees, mostly from Taiwan and South Korea, from 1960-75. Mr. Kissam was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Van Deusen Kissam. Marron Mr. Marron, 66, of Rumson, died Aug. 17 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark. Formerly of Middletown, he had been a resident of Rumson for more than 30 years. Mr. Marron retired in 2000 as the senior vice president of sales and marketing for Opp and Micolas Division of Johnston Industries Inc., New York, after 23 years of service. He was also a past president of the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Booster Club. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison. Mr. Marron is survived by his wife, Elisa Fryling Marron; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary and Heidi Marron of Middletown, and Peter Marron of Rumson; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelley Marron-Halstead and Christopher Halstead Sr., of Rumson; a brother, Albert Marron of Easton, Pa.; a sister, Edwina Marron Palmisano of Cape Cod, Mass.; six grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews. Victor Barone Mr. Barone, 86, of Hazlet, died Aug. 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Newark before moving to Hazlet 25 years ago. Mr. Barone was a self-employed barber for 50 years before retiring in 2002. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Bafano, and eight brothers, Martin, Louis, Harry, Lannie, Alfred, Joseph, Charles and Jimmy Barone. Mr. Barone is survived by his wife, Pauline Barone; two sons, Victor Barone Jr. of Weehawken and Robert Barone of Germany; a daughter, Norma Andriani of Secaucus; a stepdaughter, Paula Paglia of Tinton Falls; a sister, Anna Flanner of Union; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements. Santa Catherine Arnone Mrs. Arnone, 86, died Aug. 18 in Middletown. Born in Newark, she had resided in the Red Bank/Middletown area since 1946. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Bank Senior Citizen Center and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Red Bank. Mrs. Arnone was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Arnone Sr.; a son, Vincent J. Arnone Jr.; a sister, Carol De Francisci; and two brothers, Robert Yacullo and Vincent Yacullo. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael P. and Kathleen Arnone of Red Bank and Oak Ridge, N.C.; a sister, Rose Parozzo; two brothers-in-law, Frank Arnone and Thomas De Francisci; four sisters-in-law, Chris Tyluki, Mary Ciambrone, Mary Yacullo and Nat Yacullo; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James. Church, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
