Obituaries William G. Wall Mr. Wall, 81, of Middletown, died Feb. 15 at Care One Nursing Facility, Holmdel, following complications from Parkinson’s disease. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Nazareth, Pa., prior to moving to Middletown in 1956. He was a retired employee in the textile industry, traveling nationwide during his career. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a member and elder at Westminster Church, Middletown. Active in Middletown, he was a former member of the Middletown Township Zoning Board, and Middletown Board of Education, and a county committeemen in the 43rd District, Middletown. He was past president of Middletown Pop Warner, and a Middletown Youth Athletic Association Little League coach. He enjoyed sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois R. Rohn Wall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bob Lipscomb of Shenandoah Junction, W. Va., and Betsy and Steve Kowal of the Leonardo section of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, William G. and Patricia Wall Jr. of Camp Hill, Pa., and Robert R. and Susan Wall of Leonardo, 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Feb. 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m., followed by entombment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
Anne Elisabeth Harrington Mrs. Harrington, 75, of Alexandria, Va., and formerly Matawan, died Feb. 18 at home. Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, she resided in Matawan for 36 years, retiring to Alexandria in 1998. She was a teacher at various schools in central New Jersey for 30 years. Prior to that, she was a writer for various TV stations in Ohio and Philadelphia. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, J.G. Harrington and Jere Gibber of Alexandria, Va., and Jeffrey and Sharon Harrington of Manalapan; three grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. A memorial service will be March 11 at 7 p.m. at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. Arrangements were by Demaine Funeral Home, Alexandria, Va. James P. Larkin Mr. Larkin of Keansburg, died Feb. 3 at his sister’s home in Middletown. Born in Jersey City, he resided there prior to moving to Keansburg in 1990. He was a warehouseman at Block Drug, Jersey City, retiring 12 years ago. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Joan Larkin Wentway and Richard of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Church. Burial was at Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery, Jersey City.
Mary A. Stevenson Mrs. Stevenson, 55, of Middletown, died Feb. 20 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bergenfield, she resided in Middletown the past 30 years. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her father, Michael Spaulding. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Donald Stevenson; her mother, Ellen Daly Spaulding; three daughters, Mary Ellen Stevenson of Eatontown, Michele Stevenson of Middletown, and Melissa Stevenson of Red Bank; two brothers, Bernie Spaulding of Northglenn, Colo., and Michael Spaulding of Payson, Ariz.; a sister, Ellen Taylor of Hellertown, Pa.; and a grandson. Visitation will be Feb. 23 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Wesley Monroe Smith Mr. Smith, 53, of Hazlet, died Jan. 31 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Queens, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Hazlet in 1990. He was a computer consultant until 1997, when he retired to be a homemaker. Prior to that, he was associate director of hospitals and director of information services for New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, Metropolitan Hospital, the Bronx and Queens, N.Y., and Elmhurst Hospital, Queens. He served on the Hazlet Township Board of Education from 1996-98, as well as the ad hoc technology committee. He was predeceased by his parents, George Monroe and Edith Spengler Smith. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Merizio Smith; and children, Carson and Channing Smith, both of Hazlet. A memorial service will be March 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Laureana F. Florés Dimagiba Mrs. Dimagiba, 85, of Hazlet, died Feb. 7 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in the Philippines, she resided there prior to moving to Hazlet in 1987. She was a personal care assistant and nurse in the Philippines. She was predeceased by her husband, Angel Dimagiba in 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Palacios of Hazlet; a son, Anthony Dimagiba of the Philippines; 12 brothers and sisters; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, with interment at the church’s cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Paul E. Griffin Mr. Griffin, 30, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died Feb. 7 at home. Born in the New Monmouth section of Middletown, he resided in Lincroft the past 20 yeas. He was a clerk at A & P, Little Silver, for 11 years. He was a communicant of St. Leo The Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. He is survived by his parents, Ann Screene Griffin and James J. Griffin Sr.; three brothers, James J. Griffin Jr., at home, Martin F. Griffin of Lansdale, Pa., and Andrew M. Margaret Mitchell Wolfersberger Mrs. Wolfersberger, 73, of Hazlet, died Feb. 8 at home. Born in Weehawken, she resided in Union City prior to moving to Hazlet 46 years ago. She was a retired material handler at Charles of the Ritz, Holmdel, where she was employed 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Wolfersberger in 1975. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Gary Mason of Manchester, and Cheryl and Frank Waldorf of Hazlet; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Wilma Jean Feuerborn Weaver Mrs. Weaver, 77, of Hazlet, died Feb. 7 at home. Born in Richmond, Kan., she resided in Hazlet the past 47 years. She was a private duty registered nurse (RN), and a RN with a local department of health for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Her memberships included the Coalition of Families, ARC, and Voice of the Retarded. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles F. Weaver in 2003; and a sister, Eloise Scales. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Jorge Leon of Bordentown, and Lisa Weaver of Highland Park; a son, Steven C. Weaver of Woodbine; a sister, Helen Koncak of Kansas City, Mo.; and three brothers, Ivo Feuerborn and Merle Feuerborn, both of Kansas City, and Kenneth Feuerborn of Chicago. Margaret Davino Cuocci Mrs. Cuocci, 75, of Keyport, died Feb. 8 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Dover, she resided in Hightstown before moving to Keyport 50 years ago. Mrs. Cuocci was a homemaker. She was predeceased by a brother, Carmen Davino; and a sister, Ann Giglio. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Fuller of Union Beach; three brothers, Louis, Felice and Joseph Davino; four sister, Rose Siconolfi, Carmella Scotto, Susan Frank and Filomenia; and three grandchildren. Anthony Margarella Mr. Margarella, 81, of East Brunswick, died Jan. 24 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Diane Craven Margarella; four sons, Anthony Margarella of Maryland, Salvatore Margarella and Paul Margarella, both of Staten Island, N.Y., and Raymond Margarella of Sammamish, Wash.; four daughters, Elizabeth Zarak and Diane Moscatello, both of East Brunswick, Patricia Berry of Virginia and Sandra Mansueto of Garwood; two brothers, Alfonse Margarella of Middletown and Joseph Margarella of Bayville; a sister, Lee Porriello of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
William Kyles Mr. Kyles, 67, of Hazlet, died Feb. 14 at home. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he resided in the Bronx, N.Y., and Old Bridge, prior to moving to Hazlet. He was a general foreman at Con Edison, New York City, for 30 years. He was a member of the Hibernians, Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Kyles in 1985; and a daughter, Donna Kyles in 1976. He is survived by a daughter, Tara Kyles of Trenton; a son, Don Kyles of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five brothers; two sisters; and four grandchildren. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Eleanor Catherine Ingram Stoll Mrs. Stoll, 88, of Freehold Township, died Feb. 9 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Keansburg and Middletown before moving to Freehold Township. Prior to retiring 23 years ago, she was a licensed practical nurse at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, where she worked the night shift and was employed for more than 20 years. She attended the First United Methodist Church, Keansburg, and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Monmouth Chapter No. 251, Atlantic Highlands. A former Girl Scout leader, she was also a member of the Keansburg PTA. She loved to travel and enjoyed the ocean. Mrs. Stoll was predeceased in 2003 by her husband, Frederick Stoll. Surviving are three daughters, Arlene F. Cherry of Nesconset, N.Y., Carolyn Kacedon of Jackson and Janette Daly of Florence Township; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Born in Rotterdam, Holland, he resided in the New Monmouth section of Middletown prior to moving to Forked River in 1998. He owned and operated the Penguin Club, Matawan, and was also a paint contractor in the Middletown area. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marine, and U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Wegman Overhand; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Marius Overhand III of Sacramento, Calif., and William and Leah Overhand of Hazlet; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Dean Caneal of Forked River; a sister, Gretha Piket of Holland; two brothers, Franz Overhand and Jopie Overhand, both Holland; and six grandchildren.
