Obituaries Dorothy C. Desiderio Mrs. Desiderio, 65, of the Leonardo section of Middletown, died June 18 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Hazlet prior to moving to Leonardo in 1972. She was a preschool teacher at Mountain Hill and Spice Tree Preschools, Middletown. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Highlands. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Desiderio; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul Desiderio and Marc Desiderio, both of Middletown, and Christopher and Tina Desiderio of Neptune; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Frank Generelli of Middletown; a sister, Carole Salvia o Manchester; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be June 22 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, followed by burial at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Edward F. Garvey Mr. Garvey, 81, of Middletown, died June 17 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided there prior to moving to Middletown 34 years ago. He was a fireman in Jersey City for 18 years, retiring 38 years ago. He was also a manager at Shore Casino, Atlantic Highlands, from 1971-79. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3303. He was a former head of the Federal Emergency Management Association, Jersey City. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Hayes Garvey in 2001. He is survived by three sons, Edward Garvey of Marietta, Ga., Kenneth Garvey of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert Garvey of Middletown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral gathering will be June 22 at 9 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:15 a.m. at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Maria Celeste Hough Mrs. Hough, 50, of Middletown, died June 18 at home. Born in Queens, N.Y., she resided in Elmont, N.Y., and Washington Township prior to moving to Middletown seven years ago. She was the owner and operator the past two years of Alex Dee Lighting and Home Accessories, Middletown. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Howard Hough; a daughter, Alex Dee Hough of Middletown; two sons, Stephen Hough and David Hough, both of New Jersey; two sisters, Frances Inserra of Port Jefferson, N.Y., and Celeste Seppi of Holbrook, N.Y.; two brothers, Vincent Bacchi of Supply, N.C., and Frank Bacchi of Flushing, N.Y.; her parents, Celeste and Ignatius Bacchi of Long Island, N.Y.; and a grandson. Visitation will be June 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be June 23 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Judy A.G. White Judy A.G. White, 54, of the Belford section of Middletown, died June 16 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Perth Amboy, she resided in Keyport prior to moving to Belford 30 years ago. She was a teacher at Monmouth Regional High School, Tinton Falls, for 12 years. She was a member of the recording secretary for the Ladies Auxiliary of Middletown Elks Post No. 2179. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. White in 1999. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Donna White of Hazlet; three sisters, Linda Zailski, Lisa Berry and Debbie Jaworowski, all of Florida, two brothers, Eddie Falls and Kevin Falls, both of Florida; and eight grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Patricia E. DeOliveira Ms. DeOliveira, 59, of Brick, died June 13 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in Union City and had lived in Fairview and Maywood before moving to Brick a year and a half ago. She was an administrative assistant at Fort Monmouth for 2 1/2 years and had previously been employed for five years by Ernst & Young investments in Lyndhurst. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, where she was also an active member of the Glory and Praise prayer group. Ms. DeOliveira was predeceased by her father, William Kellenberger; her mother, Caroline Miller; and a brother, Bill Kellenberger. Surviving are two sisters, Kathryn Kellenberger of Brick and Carolyn Picinich of Middletown; a brother, Thomas Kellenberger of Smyrna, Ga.; and six nieces and three nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Ann’s Church, followed by burial at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Amelia Habermann Seigfried Mrs. Seigfried, 87, of Lawrenceville, died June 14 at Care One of Ewing. Born in Newark, she resided in Long Branch, Red Bank and Middletown, prior to moving to Lawrenceville recently. She was a retired part time teacher’s aide in the special education classes at the Middletown Township School System. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam George Seigfried in 1966; a daughter, Katherine M. Cross; a sister, Katherine M. Hartman; and two brothers, Arthur and Murray Habermann. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. and Louise Seigfried of Mineral, Va., Michael W. and Elaine Seigfried of Lawrenceville, and Thomas J. and Stephanie Seigfried of Brick; a daughter and son-in-law, Eva A. and Edward M. Conover of Lakewood; two brothers, Alexander and Frederick Habermann; a son-in-law, George W. Cross; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Rose Kopcho Garcia Mrs. Garcia, 91, of Matawan, died June 13 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in the Sewaren section of Woodbridge, she resided there prior to moving to Matawan one year ago. She was a retired garment worker at Maidenform, Perth Amboy. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bernice Kopcho Sr. of Matawan; a sister, Sophie Jorgensen of Toms River; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment was at the Ukrainian Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Hopelawn. Arrangements were by Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. Grace J. and Anthony S. Renna Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Renna, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died June 3. Surviving are three sons, Guy of Brooklyn, N.Y., John of Hazlet and Anthony Jr. of Manalapan; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Renna also is survived by a brother, Angelo Renna of Staten Island, N.Y., and a sister, Anna McNally of Florida. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro.
