Obituaries Margaret M. Mylott Egan Ms. Egan, 74, of Hazlet, died Dec. 19 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Illinois for 19 years prior to moving to Hazlet 10 years. ago. She was a phone operator at Marsh & McLennan Company, New York City. She is survived by three daughter, Joann Capasso of Illinois, Eileen Rocca of California, and Patricia Breazle of Texas; two sons, Brian Egan of Massachusetts, and Kevin Egan of California; a brother, Thomas Mylott of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Ann Zalher of Lanoka Harbor, and Kathleen Graham of Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Dec. 21 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Dec. 22 at 10:15 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown.
Eileen J. Fuchs Mrs. Fuchs, 89, of Middletown, died Dec. 17 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Newark, she resided in Hazlet, Ortley Beach and Atlantic Highlands before moving to Middletown. Mrs. Fuchs was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Ambrose Fuchs, in 1979. Mrs. Fuchs is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jacqueline DeBrown of Fair Haven, and Michele and Gregory Perrini of Middletown; a son, Timothy Fuchs of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and a granddaughter. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Ann R. Pytel Mrs. Pytel, 77, of Middletown, died Dec. 18 at home. Born in Perth Amboy, she had resided in the Iselin section of Woodbridge before moving to Middletown 22 years ago. Mrs. Pytel was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Pytel Sr., in 1978. Mrs. Pytel is survived by a daughter, Brenda Flynn of Middletown, with whom she lived; a son, Andrew R. Pytel Jr. of Perth Amboy; two sisters, Alice Arcaro of Toms River and Rosie Weikel of Perth Amboy; a brother, Thomas R. Thomas of Perth Amboy; and seven grandchildren. Rosemary Florence Canino Mrs. Canino, 71, of Marlboro, died Dec. 11 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Marlboro for the past 18 years. Mrs. Canino was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles; two daughters and a son-in-law, Florence and Joe Asciolla of Marlboro, and Maria Oliva of North Middletown; and four grandchildren. Charles A. McBride Mr. McBride, 79, of Hazlet, died Dec. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had lived in Aberdeen until moving to Hazlet 14 years ago. Mr. McBride was a director at RCA Global Communications, Piscataway, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by a brother, John McBride. Mr. McBride is survived by his wife, Eleanor M. Scholler McBride; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles A. and Christine McBride and Keith E. McBride, all of Hazlet, and Matthew J. McBride of Keansburg; two sisters, Elizabeth Stewartson and Catherine McBride, both of Aberdeen; and five grandchildren. Michael Polukard Mr. Polukard, 32, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Dec. 11 with his brother, Stephen, following a motor vehicle accident in Wescosville, Pa. Born in Livingston, he resided in Belford most of his life. Mr. Polukard was a dock builder at Phoenix Marine, Keyport, the past five years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 731, Keyport. Mr. Polukard is survived by his parents, Eileen and Stanley Polukard of Belford; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Holly Polukard of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Melissa Polukard of Wescosville, Pa.; and a niece and nephew. Roy R. Wagner Mr. Wagner, of Middletown, died Dec. 13 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark, he resided in Elizabeth before moving to Middletown in 1954. Mr. Wagner was a tool and die maker at Bendix Corp., Eatontown, for several years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he was employed at Rheingold Brewery, East Orange. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife of 54 yeas, Eileen Mack Wagner; and a daughter, Dianne Wagner. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. The John F. Stephen Polukard Mr. Polukard, 34, of Wescosville, Pa., died Dec. 11 with his brother, Michael, following a motor vehicle accident in Wescosville. Born in Livingston, he resided in the Belford section of Middletown before moving to Wescosville four months ago. He was employed in network operations at AT&T, Bedminster, the past eight years. Mr. Polukard is survived by his wife, Melissa Newton Polukard; his parents, Eileen and Stanley Polukard of Belford; a son, Chase, and daughter, Michayla, both at home; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Holly Polukard of Jackson; his father-in-law, Thomas Newton of Keansburg; his mother-in-law, Kathy Dalton of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Thomas R. Mary DiMattei Susino Mrs. Susino, 79, of Holmdel, died Dec. 14 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Queens, N.Y., before moving to Holmdel 39 years ago. Mrs. Susino was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmelo Susino, earlier this year. Mrs. Susino is survived by two sons, Frank Susino of Keansburg and Stephen Susino of Hazlet; four daughters, Elena Martino, Maria Susino and Michele Susino, all of Holmdel, and Carmela Jarbeck of Florida; two sisters, Josephine Esposito of Long Island, N.Y., and Sarafina DiVito of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Salvatore DiMattei of Toms River; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Dorothy Costa Nisivoccia Mrs. Nisivoccia, 76, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, died Dec. 15 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Belleville, she resided in Hazlet before moving to West Keansburg 17 years ago. Mrs. Nisivoccia was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Nisivoccia, in 1974. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Michele Nisivoccia of Matawan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carmella and Joseph Centimole of Aberdeen, and Lucy and Mark Fedorco, and Catherine and Edward Coppola, all of Hazlet; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. William Struk Mr. Struk, 86, of Middletown, died Dec. 15 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Bayonne, he resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Middletown in 1984. Before his retirement, Mr. Struk was employed by New York Telephone Co. Prior to that, he was a shop chairman at Murray Manufacturing, Brooklyn, where he was employed 28 years. He also played professional Triple A baseball as a pitcher for the Brooklyn Dodgers’ farm team. He served with the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and was a member of the American Legion. He was predeceased by three brothers, George, John and Theodore; and two sisters, Theresa and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Agnes Dubinski Struk of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and George; two brothers-in-law, Peter and Benjamin; two sisters-in-law, Marie and Helen; and four grandchildren. Joan Kelleher Mrs. Kelleher, 73, of Matawan, died Dec. 16 at home. Born in Long Island, N.Y., she resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Matawan 27 years ago. She was employed at the Matawan Public Library and the Matawan office of the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles. Prior to that, Mrs. Kelleher was a department manager at Macy’s for 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was also involved for several years with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Michael Kelleher Sr., in 1995. Mrs. Kelleher is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Debbie Kelleher of Hazlet; a daughter and son-in-law, Deirdre and Mark Dellert of Marlboro; a brother and sister, Patrick Joseph Maloney and Bernadette Quinn, both of California; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Ruth T.. Livingston Mrs. Livingston, 88, of Middletown, died Dec. 5 at home. Born in Westfield, she resided in Indianapolis, prior to moving to Middletown 50 years ago. She was a secretary at Middletown Board of Education for 20 years, retiring in the mid 1980s. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, George G. Livingston in 1984. She is survived by a son, Gordon Livingston of Columbus; a daughter, Lenita Gullman of Middletown; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Dorothy N. Nelson Grover Mrs. Grover, 81, of South Amboy, died Dec. 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in South Amboy, she was a lifelong resident. Before her retirement, Mrs. Grover was an engineer at Carborundum Corp., Keasbey, where she was employed for more than 20 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Perth Amboy. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Grover, in 2002; and a brother, Louis Nelson Jr., during World War II. Mrs. Grover is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Diana Grover of Middletown; two granddaughters; and a nephew. A funeral service was held at Grace Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, was in charge of arrangements. George R. Diak Mr. Diak, 90, of Middletown, died Dec. 8 at Care One at Holmdel. Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he resided in Middletown since 1953. He was a retired electrical engineer for the U.S. Government, Fort Monmouth, where he was employed 25 years. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Gerding Diak of Middletown; a son, George R. Diak of Madison, Wis.; and a sister, Wilma Diak of Harrison. Arrangements were by John F. Margaret Jane McCarthy Mrs. McCarthy, 86, of Holmdel, died Dec. 8 in Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1998. Mrs. McCarthy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Fred Correnti of Freehold Township. J. Crawford Compton Jr. Mr. Compton, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Dec. 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Little Silver. Mr. Compton was the co-founder, with his father, of J. Crawford Compton Inc., and concentrated on the insurance business. Prior to that, he was employed in the banking industry in New York City. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Compton was a member and past president of the New Jersey Independent Insurance Agents, the Monmouth County Independent Fee Appraisers, and the Middletown Lions Club, and a Lions International Fellow. He was a recipient of the Northern Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce Achievement Award. He was a direct descendant of a Monmouth patentee family of the 17th century. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce. Mr. Compton is survived by his wife, Ruby; a son, Brian; and one grandson. Interment took place at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
