Auditions

Spotlight Players will hold auditions for the musical “Bye Bye Birdie” Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, Route 34 and Franklin Street. Many roles are available for adults and teens ages 12 and up. One young boy under the age of 12 is also needed. Those auditioning should bring sheet music in their key and wear comfortable clothing, since a dance audition may be required. Over the Rainbow Productions’ Children’s Entertainment Series will hold auditions for “Hansel and Gretel” and “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” Jan. 13, 5-7 p.m., at the Eatontown Playhouse, Route 35, Eatontown. The Concordia Youth Chorale will hold its annual January enrollment auditions. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights in Middletown. There will be a simple audition to test voice range. Recent events include a tour of Italy and a performance at Carnegie Hall. Upcoming events include a tour of Austria and Prague. Mighty Oak Players will hold auditions for “Rodgers & Hart: A Celebration,” directed by Jeff Babey with music directed by Jenifer Alagna, Jan. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. at the Richard Marasco Performing Arts Center at Monroe Township High School, 1629 Perrineville Road, Monroe. Callbacks will be Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. Snow date is Jan. 20. Needed are six men and six women of all vocal ranges. Soar Productions will hold auditions for “The Wizard of Oz” Jan. 22, 6-9 p.m., and Jan. 23, 7-10 p.m., at the Community Firehouse, Appleton Avenue, Leonardo section of Middletown (between Route 36 and Leonardville Road). The auditions are open to ages 5 through adult; all adult roles are available except the Wizard. Those auditioning should bring sheet music, a CD or a cassette. Ocean County College Theater Company will hold open auditions for the spring production of “The Exonerated” by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, directed by Arthur Waldman. Available parts are seven males (three African Americans), and three females (one African American). Auditions will be held at the OCC Fine Arts Center Theatre, College Drive, Toms River, Jan. 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. Callbacks will be Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Performance dates are March 9-11, 17-18 at 8 p.m. and March 12 at 2 p.m.

Bordentown Community Players will hold auditions for the spring production of Michael Hollinger’s “Incorruptible,” a two-act comedy about the dark ages, Jan. 24 and 25, 7-9:30 p.m. at Rancocas Valley Regional High School.
