Eileen McDonald Lansing

Mrs. Lansing, 82, of Toms River, died Feb. 20 at Jersey Shore Medical, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Fanwood and Maywood, prior to moving to Toms River. She was a retired secretary at Western Electric, New York City, where she was employed several years. She was a member of Church of the Lutheran Redeemer, Maywood. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Thomas Stinson of Hazlet; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be Fed. 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

Robert Sadowski

Mr. Sadowski, 56, of Highlands, died Feb. 19 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, he resided in the Belford section of Middletown, prior to moving to Highlands in 1997. He was a ramp agent at Continental Airlines, Newark, the past 15 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 338, Leonardo section of Middletown, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown, and Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 2179, Belford. He was predeceased by his father, John in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Bulkeley Sadowski of Highlands; a daughter, Kathleen Sadowski of Highlands; two brothers, Jack Sadowski of Allendale, and Don Sadowski of Holmdel; his mother, Sophie Cechony of Keansburg; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Feb. 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Edward Kelley

Mr. Kelley, 56, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 13 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark, he resided in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet before moving to Cliffwood Beach 20 years ago. Mr. Kelley was a truck driver for American Metal Moulding, Edison, for 10 years, and Super & Sons, Harrison, for 10 years. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1967-71. He is survived by his wife, Concetta Barillari Kelley; a son, Edward Kelley III of Woodbridge; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Alex Hilgetag of the Fords section of Woodbridge, Pia Wright of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, and Rana Wright of Pittsburgh; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Daniel Charles Kelley of Hazlet, and John and Terri Kelley of Union Beach; and four grandchildren. Arrangements were by Laurel Funeral Home, West Keansburg.

Helen K. MacKenn

Helen K. MacKenn, 92, of Jackson, died Feb. 13 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Jersey City and Middletown before moving to Jackson in 2003. Mrs. MacKenn was a bookkeeper at Anderson Moving and Storage, Red Bank, for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her husband, Emil W. MacKenn, in 2004. Mrs. MacKenn is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald R. and Janice MacKenn of Howell, John F. and Frances MacKenn of Falmouth, Mass., Robert W. and Monica MacKenn of Vernon, Conn., and Stephen A. and Lillian MacKenn of Spanaway, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Marjorie Brower Curtis

Mrs. Curtis, 95, of Rumson, and formerly of the Belford section of Middletown, died Feb. 14 at home. She was born in Raritan Township. Mrs. Curtis was a retired file clerk at Bell Labs, Holmdel, where she was employed more than 15 years. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Glisson of Atlantic Highlands; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.

George W. Hock

Mr. Hock, 83, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Feb. 14 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Irvington, he had resided in Newark and in Middletown before moving to Port Monmouth. Mr. Hock was a sheet metal worker with Sheet Metal Workers Local 25, Carlstadt, for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth. Mr. Hock was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Hock, in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Smith Hock; three sons, Donald Hock of Middletown, George Hock of Andover, and Glenn Hock of Eatontown; a daughter, Deborah Scarangello of the Belford section of Middletown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.

Russell C. Iglay

Mr. Iglay, 86, of Highlands, died Feb. 16 at Care One Care Center at King James, Middletown. Born in Newark, he resided in Middletown before moving to Highlands 30 years ago. Before his retirement in 1995, Mr. Iglay was a carpenter with Carpenters Union Local No. 2250, Red Bank, for 35 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Pacific Theater Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1000, Trenton. He was predeceased by his former wife, Eva Iglay, in 2004; a brother, Hollister C. Iglay, in 2005; and a niece, Holli Ann Iglay. Mr. Iglay is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Wendy Iglay, and June and Fred Chalmers, all of Middletown; a sister, Dolores Reilly of Eatontown; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Ann Di Biase Jannos

Mrs. Jannos, 82, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, died Feb. 15 at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Italy, she resided in the area for many years. Mrs. Jannos was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Steve Jannos; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronald and Michele Jannos of Kendall Park, and Stephen Jannos of Pittsburgh; four sisters, Lillian Camp of South Brunswick, Theresa Paltridge of Matawan, Angelina Murphy of South Amboy, and Rose Di Biase of Sayreville; a brother, John Di Biase of Sayreville; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by the Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

William Warren “Willie” Wilson

Mr. Wilson, 63, of Millstone, died Feb. 15 at home. He was born in Long Branch and was raised in Matawan. Before his retirement four years ago, Mr. Wilson was employed at E.I. DuPont Co., Parlin, for 38 years. He was U.S. Navy veteran. He was a graduate of Matawan High School and a member of the Woodlake Country Club, Lakewood. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Barbara Patricia Wilson; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Scott and Denise M. Wilson of Yardley, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl L. and Robert E. Scholer of Newtown, Pa.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ann Wilson of Matawan, and Gary and Lynn Wilson of Perrineville; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Tom Jensen of Colton, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.

Dorothy Evelyn “Evie” Verange

Mrs. Verange, 90, of Middletown, died Feb. 16. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in Monmouth Beach and other Monmouth County towns before moving to Middletown. Mrs. Verange was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Holmdel Fire Auxiliary and the Red Bank Elks. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Beth Verange of North Andover, Mass., and Philip and Susan Verange of Little Silver. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.

Loretta E. Pierce Vogt

Mrs. Vogt, 72, of Neptune, died Feb. 16 at home. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Hazlet and in Charlotte Court House, Va., before moving to Neptune two years ago. Before her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Vogt was a secretary at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Shrewsbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl H. Vogt, in 2001. She is survived by a son, Carl D. Vogt of Manasquan; a daughter, Janice Rahilly of Neptune; two brothers, Theodore Pierce of Aberdeen and John Pierce of Staten Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Jone Pierce of Aberdeen, and Helen Gustofson of Staten Island; and two grandchildren. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Ruth Louise Simon

Mrs. Simon, 89, of the Locust section of Middletown, died Feb. 17 at home. She resided in St. Augustine, Fla., prior to moving to Locust in 1969. She was a retired waitress at Squire’s Pub, Eatontown, where she was employed 20 years. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Navesink section of Middletown. She enjoyed time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Joseph Simon Jr. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Florence and Norman R. Shaer of Locusts, Barbara and James Colee of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Michelle and Anthony Di Chiara of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a brother, Milton Jacoby of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Aram S. Yezdanian

Mr. Yezdanian, 70, of Red Bank, died Feb. 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a sales representative at Cooperative Communications for five years. Prior to that, he was a marketing manager at S & H Green Stamps, Edison, for 16 years. He was a deacon and choirmaster at St. Stepanos Armenian Church, Elberon section of Long Branch. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Yezdanian; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Tom Heitman of Holmdel, and Lori and Lou Lombardi of the Lincroft section of Middletown. A funeral service was held at St. Stepanos Church. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Sylvester T. Sheppard

Mr. Sheppard, 86, of Middletown, died Feb. 6 at home. Born in Keansburg, he has been a resident of Middletown since 1983. Mr. Sheppard was a motor vehicle examiner for the State of New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles from 1950 until his retirement in 1979. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1941-47 as an aviation chief radioman in Lakehurst, and chief petty officer aboard the USS Princeton CV-37. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank. He was a past master of Raritan Lodge No. 61, Free and Accepted Masons, Perth Amboy, and 32nd degree Mason–Scottish Rite Freemasons. Mr. Sheppard was predeceased by his wife, Helen; four brothers, Anthony, Herman, Frank and Vincento; and two sisters, Christine and Anna. He is survived by a son, Christopher Sheppard of Middletown; seven daughters, Patricia Rainville of Red Bank, Sharon Sheppard of Columbus, Ohio, Lorraine Sheppard of Manitou Springs, Colo., Sandra Ford of the Leonardo section of Middletown, Joanne Rudow of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Carolyn Dominguez of Neptune, and Audrey Phillips of Hazlet; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Burial took place at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, under the direction of the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Dominick J. Lioi

Mr. Lioi, 91, of the Shadow Lake section of Middletown, died Feb. 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in New York City. He was a motorman at New York City Transit Authority for 26 years, retiring in 1953. He was a former member of St. Dominick’s Roman Catholic Church, the Bronx, N.Y. He enjoyed shuffleboard, gardening, and golf. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Bernarda Liggio Lioi. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Joanne Panzarella of Ocean, and Linda and Philip Mancuso of New York City; a sister-in-law, Jean of Bardonia, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
