Obituaries Anthony V. "Bud" Rumolo Mr. Rumolo, 84, of Rumson, died May 12 at home. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he resided in West Brighton, Staten Island, prior to moving to Rumson in 1962. He was a pension consultant at Actuarial Ideas, Rumson. Prior to that, he was a vice president at Manhattan Life Insurance Company, New York City. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and received the American Campaign, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Victory Medal. He was also a liaison officer at the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., during the 60s. He was former chairman of the Richmond County Boy Scouts Association, and inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He was a member and past president of Charter Life Underwriters Association of Monmouth County. He was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Rumolo; and a sister, Vera Rigali. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane M. Fredericks Rumolo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward "Ed" and Lynn of Little Silver, and David and Donna of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jayne and Keith of New York City; a sister, May Ferrari of the Lincroft section of Middletown; and one granddaughter. A Memorial Mass will be May 20 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. Arrangements are by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Michael F. Goggins Mr. Goggins, 65, of Hazlet, died May 15 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, he resided in Keansburg prior to moving to Hazlet 30 years ago. He was operations group supervisor at Port Authority Transit Hudson Corporation for 32 yeas, retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a past coach of the Hazlet Youth League, and an avid fan of horse racing, the Jets and the San Francisco Giants. He was predeceased by a brother, William Goggins; and a sister, Margaret Galvin. He is survived by his wife, Madeline Kelly Goggins of Hazlet; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Audra Goggins, and Sean and Marianne Goggins, all of Hazlet; a sister, Elizabeth Pigott of Keansburg; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be May 17 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be May 18 at 9;15 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Richard J. Davis Mr. Davis, 75, of Keansburg, died May 8 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was employed at Leonardo Grade School, Middletown Board of Education, for 32 years, until the time of his death. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 273, and Goodfellows Social Club, both Keansburg. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Davis in 1983; six brothers, Daniel, James, Joseph, John, Thomas and Francis Davis; and six sisters, Ann Tyner, Catherine Rossman, Helen Klimaszewski, Margaret Candito, Irene Brown and Marie Futterer. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Hess Davis; two sons, Richard Davis of Atlantic Highlands, and Robert Davis of Keansburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Matteucci Jr. of Middletown; a brother, William Davis of Toms River; a sister, Theresa Matros of Hasbrouck Heights; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Ann's Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Charlotte K. Wesnesky Krasutsky Mrs. Krasutsky, 89, of Middletown, died May 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Dickson City, Pa., she resided in Port Republic, prior to moving to Middletown 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Alexander P. Krasutsky in 2000; two sisters, Lucille Carvel and Ann Menetrez; and two brothers, Carl Wesnesky and John Wesnesky. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alexander P. and Margaret Krasutsky Jr. of Lakewood; a daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Bryan Davis of Middletown; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Dolores Wolff Mrs. Wolff, 72, of Manalapan, died May 9 at Madison Center, Matawan. Born in Queens, N.Y., she resided there prior to moving to Covered Bridge seven years ago. She was a keypunch operator at Palisades Institute, Greenwich Village, N.Y., for 45 years, retiring in 1998. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1997. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and mari Wolff of Aberdeen; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Xavier Espinoza of Queens, N.Y.; a brother, William Thompson of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a sister, Betty Zehner of York, Pa.; and four grandchildren. Dolores "Dora" T. Francisconi Mrs. Francisconi, 79, of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, died May 11 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Keansburg, she was a lifelong resident of Keansburg and West Keansburg. Mrs. Francisconi was a cashier at the commissary at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 28 years, retiring in 2003. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lucille Laretto, in 1992; two sisters, Vera Davis and Lena Pesce; and two brothers, Giustino and Leonard Bellezza. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Francisconi; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Eileen Francisconi of Barnegat, and Anthony and Tracie Francisconi of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Agnes and Raymond Fix of Manahawkin; a son-in-law, Kenneth Laretto of Herndon, Va.; three sisters, Lorraine Bellezza of Mays Landing, Sabina Donaruma of Hazlet, and Margaret Dellapitro of Jackson; two brothers, Sylvester Bellezza of the Belford section of Middletown, and Anthony Bellezza of Port Richey, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Irene Zulin Stolte Mrs. Stolte, 74, of Aberdeen, died May 11 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in South Amboy, she resided there before moving to Aberdeen 44 years ago. Mrs. Stolte was a bus aide for the Big Yellow Bus Co., Morganville. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Stolte, in 1997; two sisters, Dorothy Noviski and Rose Letts; and a brother, Michael Zulin. Mrs. Stolte is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Michele Stolte of Hazlet, and Daryl and Jude Stolte of Keansburg; two brothers, George Zulin of Sayreville and Joseph Zulin of South Amboy; a sister, Elena Wahler of South Amboy; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Keyport. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn L. Backfisch Hibberd Mrs. Hibberd, 85, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died May 12 at her daughter's home in Aberdeen. She was born in Maplewood. Mrs. Hibberd was a purchasing agent at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Laurence Harbor First Aid Squad. She was predeceased by her husband, George H. Hibberd, in 2002; a brother, Charles Backfisch; and two sisters, Margaret Auth and Dorothy Esslinger. Mrs. Hibberd is survived by four daughters, Donna Kipila of Barnegat, Denise Reisert of Aberdeen, Debra Ordner of Hope Valley, R.I., and Dawn Bittner of Freehold; a brother, Robert Backfisch of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by interment at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
Phylis J. Rongo Mrs. Rongo, 83, of Hazlet, died May 13 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Hoboken, she resided in Keansburg, prior to moving to Hazlet 16 years ago. She was a member of the Golden Age group at Holy Family Church, Union Beach, and several national environmental nonprofits. She was predeceased by her husband, William Rongo in 1990. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Mirella Rongo of Middletown, and Tony and Barbara Rongo of Coral Springs, Fla., a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and William Gilbert of Middletown; two brothers, Skippy Totaro of Hoboken, and John Totaro of Teaneck; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Burial was at Fair View Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
