Rain dampens Flames' hopes of advancing to nationals
     The Middletown Flames 16-and-under girls softball team traveled to Howell two weekends ago with hopes of earning a bid to the PONY National Softball Tournament, but despite winning two games without a defeat, the bid was basically washed away when the tournament was canceled due to rain.
