CPC Behavioral Healthcare, Eatontown, recently hosted its 18th annual spring invitational golf tournament, which netted more than $65,000 to support children and families in emotional crisis. The event was held at Hollywood Golf Course, Deal, and was led by honorary chairman Maury Povich, Middletown.
Peter Conte Salon & Spa, Matawan, has been named grand prize winner in the national "Salons of the Year" interior design competition sponsored by Salon Today magazine. The salon is owned by Roger A. Peter and Jennifer Conte. The salon was featured on the cover and in an article of the June issue of Salon Today. More than 100 entries in the contest were judged in six design categories - use of color, lighting, flooring, efficient use of space, consistency of design and overall aesthetics. There were also four runners-up, and 15 "salons of distinction."
Sgt. Kenneth Metz, Aberdeen, has been named the Amtrak Police Department's Officer of the Year in recognition of his contributions to the corporation and the department. Metz began with the Amtrak Police Department in 1990, working uniformed patrol in New York and New Jersey, and was recently promoted to his current rank and assigned to patrol duty in the New York Division. Metz received commendations from Gov. Jon S. Corzine, and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, among others The Amtrak Police Department is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
IMPACT (Improving Middletown's Program for Autistic Children Together) raised $4,800 at a June raffle with a grand prize of an all-inclusive trip to Las Vegas. Proceeds will benefit establishment of a vocational program in Middletown schools, and funding for after school social groups for autistic children. For more information, visit www.impactnj.org.
