Obituaries Josephine C. Breese Anthony Mrs. Anthony, 84, of South River, died Aug. 15 at home. Born in the Dayton section of South Brunswick, she resided in South River the past 44 years. She was a member of South River Baptist church. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1977; a son, Richard K. in 1993; a daughter, Vivian Meaier in 2000; a sister, Florence Pullen in 2004; and four brothers, Walter, Alvin and William Breese, and Thomas McCabe. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald Breese, Thomas and Cathy Anthony, Timothy and Jacqueline Anthony, and Earl Anthony, all of South River; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Elaine and Joseph Mendonza, and Maryann Formaniak, all of Jamesburg; Joann and Brian Burlew of Hazlet; Florence and Bernard Tempalski of Spotswood; and Lillian and Thomas Engelhardt of Parlin; a sister, Pearl Lewis of Mount Holly; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick, followed by interment at Dayton Cemetery. Hannah McGowan Rooney Mrs. Rooney, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 13 at home. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland, she relocated to New York City in 1945 and resided in the Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Belford. Mrs. Rooney was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Bartly Rooney, in 1986. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Kevin Cummings of Belford; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Marilyn Rooney of Gloversville, N.Y.; a brother, John McGowan of the Bronx, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Burial took place at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Virginia Kennedy DiGiambattista Mrs. DiGiambattista, 79, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Aug. 13. Born in Hazlet, she resided in Keyport before moving to Cliffwood. Mrs. DiGiambattista was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was predeceased by two sisters, Vinny Dietz and Mary Tooker; and four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Edward and James Kennedy. Mrs. DiGiambattista is survived by her husband, Angelo S.; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Daley of Hazlet; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Alice DiGiambattista of Pittstown; a sister, Margaret Scully of Keyport; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, with interment at the church's cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Carmella F. DiMartino Hrbek Mrs. Hrbek, 85, of Holmdel, died Aug. 16 at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Italy, she resided in Hazlet and Hackensack before moving to Holmdel. Mrs. Hrbek was a homemaker. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank DiMartino, Michael DiMartino and Joseph DiMartino; and a sister, Jean Marrinaro. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Peter Figlia of Manahawkin, and Marialener and Robert Gabrielson, and Frankie and William Hedges, all of Hazlet; two sisters, Antoinette Muller of Naples, Fla., and Gilda Jannucci of New Milford; a brother, John DiMartino of California; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Gerald Dziadzio Mr. Dziadzio, 63, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Aug. 15 at home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Irvington, he relocated to Port Monmouth in 1965. Mr. Dziadzio was employed by Monmouth County at the Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Allenwood. Prior to that, he was a press operator at The Art Press, Roselle, for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army in the New Jersey National Guard. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 111, Fort Benning, Ga. Mr. Dziadzio was predeceased by three sons, an infant, Gerald Jr., and Raymond and Michael Ryan. He is survived by his wife, Joann; four sons, William, Wayne and Dean Ryan, and Isaac Dziadzio; a daughter, Rebecca Dziadzio; two brothers, Raymond and John Dziadzio; and several grandchildren. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements. Carmela "Millie" Pecoraro Guazzo Mrs. Guazzo, 86, of Middletown, died Aug. 16 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born in Jersey City. She was a seamstress at Komar's Keansburg, retiring several years ago. Mrs. Guazzo was predeceased by her husband, Pasquale "Patsy" Guazzo, in 1992; a son-in-law, Ray Zuhowski, in 1994; and a granddaughter, Eva Marie Shisler, in 1995. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Anne Zuhowski of Manchester, Pat and Tom Napolitano of Citrus Springs, Fla., and Annette and Kenneth Bright of Middletown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Angel Guazzo of Palm Coast, Fla., and Sal and Theresa Guazzo of Toms River; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Kelley Harriman Mrs. Harriman, 83, of Matawan died Aug. 16 at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Brookline, Mass., she resided in Teaneck before moving to Matawan in 1978. Mrs. Harriman was an operator for New York Telephone, New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Harriman. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Blackburne of Matawan; a sister, Frances Bodlovich of Jupiter, Fla.; and a grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
