Emmi Giglio

Mrs. Giglio, 70, of Red Bank, died Sept. 17 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. She was born and raised in Germany. She was a certified nurse's assistant at the Riverview Medical Center Hospice Unit, Red Bank, for 35 years, retiring in 2004. She is survived by four children, Carol of Atlantic Highlands, Joseph of Simpsonville, S.C., Peggy of Middletown, and Perry of Red Bank; two sisters, Margrit Bubbel and Crista Knofel, both of Germany; her former husband, Joseph of Holmdel; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-noon at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Bessie A. Watson Quinn

Mrs. Quinn, 82, of Hazlet, died Sept. 19 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Scotland, she resided in the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge for 56 years, prior to moving to Hazlet two years ago. She was a secretary at Weston Instruments, Newark, where she was employed 12 years. She was an avid Yankees fan, and bowler, and sponsor of Bessie's Crew at Airport Plaza Lanes. She was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius Quinn; and two brothers, Robert Watson and James Watson. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Brenneman of Hazlet; and 28 nieces and nephews. Entombment was at Cloverleaf Memorial park Cemetery, Woodbridge. Teresa N. Dunlap Moley

Mrs. Moley, 80, of Holmdel, died Sept. 15 at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in New York, Laurence Harbor and Florida, prior to moving to Holmdel. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred E. Moley Jr. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Odom of Shoreham, N.Y., Deborah and Vincent Vinci of Laurence Harbor, Karen and Michael Rizzolo of North Miami Beach, Fla., and Barbara and Brian Shanahan of Old Bridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Krista Moley of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge; a brother, John Dunlap of Dayton, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence's Church. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Frederick William Hilfiker

Mr. Hilfiker, 69, of Holmdel, died Sept. 20. Born in New York City, he resided in Rumson, prior to moving to Holmdel. He was a retired senior partner at Beauchamp & Co., New York City. He was also a member of and specialist at the New York Stock Exchange for more than 42 years. He was an avid cook, and an animal lover and gun collector. He is survived by his wife, Arline Jackie Hilfiker; his children, Richard Hilfiker of Middletown, Diane Yurish of Amherst, N.H., and Scott Hilfiker of Holmdel; a daughter-in-law, Ainsley Hilfiker; a son-in-law, Steve Yurish; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190-5362.

Aristide Harry Cozzi

Mr. Cozzi, 93, of Middletown, died Sept. 18 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York City, he resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to relocating to Middletown. He owned and operated a home remodeling and redecorating business. He served as a defense worker during World War II. He was a member of The Sons of Mary, Brooklyn, dedicated to religious works through the Monastery of the Most Precious Blood. He was a member of the Shadow Lake Kiwanis Club, and served on the Shadow Lake Board of Trustees, Shadow Lake section of Middletown. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Dennise Cozzi of Middletown; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Elizabeth T. DeZao Laird

Mrs. Laird, 88, of Ocean, died Sept. 23 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Orange, she resided in West Orange and Middletown before moving to Ocean in 2005. Mrs. Laird was employed at New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Police Officer Daniel Beebe Laird, in 1946; a son, Daniel A. Laird; a grandson, Paul Laird; two brothers, John DeZao and James DeZao; and a sister, Rose DeGennaro. Mrs. Laird is survived by a daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided since 1969, Elizabeth "Beebe" and James Foster of Ocean; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lt. Cmdr. Michael Patrick and Lisa Foster of Ledyard, Conn., and John and Carol Laird of Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law, Anne Marie Laird of Montana; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial took place at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas A. Chevalier

Mr. Chevalier, 86, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Sept. 21 at Care One at King James, Middletown. Born in Newark, he resided in Atlantic Highlands, and Verona, prior to moving to Port Monmouth 60 years ago. He was a transportation supervisor at Earle Weapons Station, Colts Neck, for 36 years, retiring in 1977. He was also a mechanic at Seats and Roebuck, Middletown; bus driver at Blue and White Bus Company, Leonardo section of Middletown; and Police Special for Middletown Township Police Department. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was a life member of Port Monmouth First Aid Squad, member of the Middletown Elks Lodge No. 2179, Belford section of Middletown, and Boy Scout Leader for Troop 88, Middletown. He also coached Pop Warner Football for the Middletown Eagles. He was predeceased by two brothers, James in 2005, and David in 2004. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline G. Jensen Chevalier; four sons, Thomas Chevalier of Port Monmouth, Richard Chevalier of Highlands, Harry Chevalier of Ocean Gate, and Michael Chevalier of Forked River; a daughter, Lesly Chevalier of Brick; three sisters, Frances Minton of Red Bank, Dolores Chevalier of Florida, and Mary Hauck of Shrewsbury; a brother, Robert Chevalier of Whiting; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Church. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
