Arlene Tyner Lordi

Mrs. Lordi, 77, died Oct. 28, 2006, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in Newark, she resided in Englishtown beforemoving to the Leonardo section of Middletown. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmen T. Lordi in 1980. She is survived by a son, Tony Lordi of Leonardo; a sister, Patricia Beck of Parlin; and a grandson. Visitation will be Nov. 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A graveside funeral service will be Nov. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

Agnes G. Lee Geiger

Mrs. Geiger, 72, of Hazlet, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Laurelton Village Care Center, Brick. Born in Jersey City, she resided there and with her daughter in Howell before moving to Hazlet 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Mrs. Geiger was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Geiger, in 1999. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Diane Geiger of Hazlet; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Thomas Korkowski of Howell; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, with interment at the church's cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Madeline L. Ward

Mrs. Ward, 91, died Oct. 20, 2006, at Bayshore Healthcare Facility, Holmdel. Born in Queens, N.Y., she resided in Elizabeth for 16 years and retired to Pinellas Park, Fla., before relocating to New Jersey a short time ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Ward Sr. Mrs. Ward is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, MaryAnn and Leonard Regina, and Lillian and John Barch, all of Florida; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph and June Ward of South Plainfield, Francis and Tammy Ward of Matawan, and Kenneth Ward of Matawan; two sisters, Mary Ward of New York and Dorothy Stafford of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Nov. 11 at noon at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. Arrangements are by Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff 07481.

John Bell

Mr. Bell, 88, of Matawan, died Oct. 28, 2006, at Care One at Holmdel. Born in South Bend, Ind., he resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to moving to Matawan several years ago. Before his retirement,e was a teamster at Anheuser Busch, Newark, for 30 years. He was a founding member of Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, Holmdel. He was a member of the Democratic Club, Union Beach. Mr. Bell was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Chios and Angelina DeMarco; a brother, George Beletsos; and his wife, Celia Prince Bell. He is survived by a daughter, Georgia Dane of Matawan; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Nan Bell of Ocean Township; five grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Nov. 2, 11 a.m. to noon at Kimisis Tis Church, Holmdel. A funeral service will be held at noon at the church, followed by interment at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. William A. Blackburn

Mr. Blackburn, 90, of Matawan, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in Covington, Ky., he was employed at American Airlines for 33 years, retiring in 1979 as a reservations manager. Following retirement, he was a crossing guard at Raritan Valley School, Hazlet, and St. Benedict's School, Holmdel. Mr. Blackburn served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific theater of World War II in 1942. He then returned to Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Va., and served as an honor guard at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery, and the White House, Washington, D.C. Following college, he was a pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and played with the Houston Texas League Class A Farm Team. Mr. Blackburn was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Theodora Jurman Shea Blackburn, in 2000. He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte "Cheri" Donlin of Eugene, Ore., and Sandra Johnson of Honolulu; two stepsons and their wives, James and Elisabeth Shea of Matawan, and Thomas and Evelyn Shea of North Brunswick; a stepdaughter and her husband, Joanne and Frank Tourine of Millstone Township; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The Day Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James J. Doody III

Mr. Doody, 64, of Hazlet, died Oct. 29, 2006, at Robert Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Plainfield, he resided in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, prior to moving to Hazlet. He was a custodian for the Piscataway Board of Education, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Keyport; The Salvation Army, Perth Amboy; and Bayshore React, Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge. He was predeceased by his companion, Patricia Pelo. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Doody and Jodi Doody; a stepson, Paul Pelo; a sister, Carol Celentano; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Nov. 1 and 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Nov. 3 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

John Allen Noecker

Mr. Noecker, 71, of Middletown, died Oct. 30, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Decorah, Iowa, he resided in Chicago, prior to moving to Middletown in 1967. He was a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs, Lincroft section of Middletown, for 32 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Christ Church, Middletown. His memberships included the Episcopal Diocese of N.J. Commission on Ministry, Shrewsbury Chorale, Monmouth County Parks Senior Hikers, Bell Labs Pioneers, and Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Fleer Noecker; two daughters, Sarah Gonzalez-Lavin of Bonita, Calif., and Sandra Noecker of Jamesburg; a son, Martin Noecker of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Phyllis Tucker of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother, Robert Noecker of Seattle; and three granddaughters. Visitation will be Nov. 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Middletown. Lena DeRisi Brescia

Mrs. Brescia, 96, of Red Bank, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation of Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided there prior to moving to Red Bank five years ago. She was a member of Holy Rosary and St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Jersey City. Mrs. Brescia was predeceased by her husband, James Brescia Sr.. in 1970; a sister, Mary Abele; and three brothers, Nicholas DeRisi, Frank DeRisi and Mike DeRisi. She is survived by a daughter, Carollyn Capiraso of Passaic; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Barbara Brescia of Sanford, Fla., and Joseph and Paula Brescia of Hazlet; three sisters, Julia Albe, Antoinette Bevacqua and Josephine Dolores "Dolly" Morrisette; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Arrangements were by John F. Angelo S. DiGiambattista

Mr. DiGiambattista, 79, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Oct. 24, 2006, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington. Born in Cliffwood, he was a lifelong resident. Before his retirement, Mr. DiGiambattista was a foreman at National Lead, Sayreville. Prior to that, he was employed at the Aberdeen Public Works Department. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a past commissioner and life member of the Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4745, Aberdeen. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia DiGiambattista, in August; two sisters, Rose Jurewicz and Connie Hennessy; and a brother, Tally DiGiambattista. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Daley of Hazlet; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Alice DiGiambattista of Pittstown; a brother, Gene DiGiambattista of Keyport; a sister, Anne Pappas of Keyport; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
