Dorothy H. O'Brien Luckenbach
Mrs. Luckenbach, 74, of Middletown, died Nov. 26, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Middletown most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement Luckenbach in 1982; and a daughter Nancy Shelly of Middletown in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Luckenbach of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, Jeffrey Luckenbach of Marlboro; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Nov. 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Nov. 30 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. Winifred Vesey O'Leary
Mrs. O'Leary, 95, of Middletown, died Nov. 25, 2006. Born in Cashel, County Sligo, Ireland, she relocated to the United States in 1929, and resided in Rumson and Fair Haven prior to entering King James Care Center, Middletown. She was employed several years as a caregiver and caterer. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas O'Leary; three brothers, Patrick, Frank and Ned; and four sisters, Mary McMusker, Ann Jane Durcan, Sister Antonia O'Leary, and Julia Sweeney. She is survived by a daughter, Ann O'Leary of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Joseph Puglisi
Mr. Puglisi, 50, of Middletown, died Nov. 17, 2006, at home. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Middletown most of his life. He is survived by his parents, Rita and Frank Puglisi of Middletown; three sisters, Laura Bates of Texas, Karen Barker of Florida, and Nancy Sweeney of Paulsboro; four brothers, Frank Puglisi Jr. of the Iselin section of Woodbridge, John Puglisi of Keansburg, Michael Puglisi of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and Jim Puglisi of Middletown; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joan North Fallon
Mrs. Fallon, 72, of Middletown, died Nov. 22, 2006, at Care One at Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she relocated to Middletown 45 years ago. She was a pharmaceutical dosage assembler at Westward Pharmaceuticals for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William D. Fallon Sr.; four brothers, John Jr., Vincent, Robert and Richard North; and a sister, Doris Hendricks. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William D. and Nancy Fallon Jr. of Deal Island, Md.; and Edward Fallon, and John and Tara Fallon, all of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Thomas Bock of Middletown; two sisters, Marie DeSordi of Crisco, Pa., and Janet Haskins of Jersey City; and a grandson. William Francis Cooper Jr.
Mr. Cooper, 63, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Nov. 27, 2006, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Middletown the past 36 years. He was a salesman at Toyota of Eatontown and Kay Honda, Eatontown, for several years. He was predeceased by his father, William F. Cooper Sr., in 1982. He is survived by his mother, Aretina Tarsia Cooper, with whom he resided; two daughters, Stefanie Cooper of Middletown and Christine Conover of Freehold; a son, William F. Cooper III of Eatontown; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held Nov. 30 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Robert B. Cushman
Mr. Cushman, 89, of Hazlet, died Nov. 16, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Acushnet, Mass., he resided in Tinton Falls, Brick and Middletown prior to moving to Hazlet seven years ago. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and Korean War, and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel after 30 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8867, Brickt. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna, in 1988. He is survived by a son, Robert Cushman of Hazlet; a daughter, Elizabeth Cushman of Toms River; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment will be Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Gertrude Dobson Klein
Mrs. Klein, 91, of Weston, Fla., died Nov. 8, 2006, at Cleveland Clinic, Weston. Born in Hoboken, she resided in Matawan for 22 years before moving to Weston. Mrs. Klein was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, and a member of St. Clement's Senior Group, Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, George P. Klein, in 1987; and a grandson, Michael Sabino. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Hans Kratz of Weston, Fla., and Georgette and John Sabino of Yonkers, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Virginia Dobson; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson, 80, of Middletown, died Nov. 24, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was born in Long Branch. She was a retired postal clerk at the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Jeremiah Wilson; and a son, Patrick Wilson. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeremiah and Judy Wilson of Florida, and Thomas Wilson of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Steven Dunn of Middletown; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Gano, 87, of Laurence Harbor, died Nov. 20 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Elizabeth, she resided there before moving to Laurence Harbor eight years ago. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Jonas Gano Sr., in 1958. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann and John Stalowski of Colonia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonas and Colleen Gano Jr. of Hazlet, and Thomas Gano of Laurence Harbor; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Frank P. Ambrosy
Mr. Ambrosy, 78, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 18, 2006, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Newark, he resided in Woodbridge prior to moving to East Brunswick 41 years ago. He was an electrician at AT&T Technologies, New Brunswick, for 41 years, retiring in 1993. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1944-50, and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stam Ambrosy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Susan Ambrosy of East Brunswick, David and Kathleen Ambrosy of North Brunswick, and Marc and Dolores Ambrosy of Middletown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Kip Connor of Manasquan, and Lisa and Paul DiLouie of Middletown; three brothers, Albert Ambrosy of Woodbridge, John Ambrosy of Sayreville, and Edward Ambrosy of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Jenny Pilus of Woodbridge; and 10 grandchildren. Thomas J. DeVoe Sr.
Mr. DeVoe, 75, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Nov. 20, 2006, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided there prior to moving to Cliffwood 47 years ago. He was a cabinet maker at J. Mielach, Edison; Marford Cabinet Shop, East Brunswick; and Exhibit Group, Highland Park. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Old Bridge Elks, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge. He was also a Boy Scout leader in Keyport and Cliffwood. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan F. Dolan DeVoe; two sons, Thomas J. DeVoe Jr. of Cliffwood, and Michael DeVoe of Sayreville; three daughters, Patricia DeVoe of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, Barbara Rozmus of Virginia, and Joan Marie DeVoe of Virginia; and nine grandchildren. George Charles Fox Sr.
Mr. Fox, 80, of Keyport, died Nov. 20, 2006, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in New York City, he resided in Aberdeen prior to moving to Keyport. He was a paper-cutter at Sabin Robbins Paper Co., Carlstadt, retiring in 1988. He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He played semiprofessional football in New York City in the early 1950s. He enjoyed travel, and was an avid fan of the New York Giants and the University of Notre Dame football. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite Weldon Fox; and a brother, Arthur Fox. He is survived by four daughters, Roseann Marcus of Toms River, Marguerite Fuller of Staten Island, N.Y., Eileen Fox of Rutherford, and Kelli Fox of Maine; a son, George Fox Jr. of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Allen Hauptmann
Mr. Hauptmann, 87, of Hazlet, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Born in West Hoboken, he resided in Union City prior to moving to Hazlet 20 years ago. He was a truck driver at Fed Way Associates, South Kearny, retiring in 1985. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 14, West Hoboken. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite Mueller Hauptmann in 2005. He is survived by three daughters, Noreen Smith of Hazlet, Patricia Hauptmann of Rutherford, and Alana Hauptmann-Cooney of Hudson, N.Y.; a son, Steve Hauptmann of River Edge; a sister, Audrey DeSombre of Georgia; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Dean Lee Spivey Sr.
Mr. Spivey, 47, of Neptune, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Imperial Health Care, Neptune. Born in Lexington, Ky., he was raised and resided in Middletown prior to moving to Neptune. He was a police officer employed in retail management. He is survived by his fiancee, JoAnn Reader of Neptune; two daughters and one son-in-law, Danielle and Bill Coberg of Middletown, and Jessica Spivey of Middletown; and two sons, Dean Lee Spivey Jr. of West Long Branch, and Ryan Spivey of South Amboy. Giulio Del Galdo
Mr. Del Galdo, 85, of Matawan, died Nov. 24, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, he resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to moving to Matawan three years ago. He was a retired mail clerk at Blue Cross Blue Shield where he was employed for 10 years. Prior to that, he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, New York City, for 33 years. He served with the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart during World War II. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Del Galdo in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Derespinis Del Galdo; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jack McInerney of Old Bridge; a daughter-in-law, Josephine Del Galdo of Staten Island, N.Y.; a sister, Carol Vespa; a brother, Henry Del Galdo; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Philip H. "Skip" Austin
Mr. Austin, 40, of Holdrege, Neb., and formerly the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died unexpectedly Nov. 22, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Neb. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Hazlet prior to moving to Nebraska two years ago. He was employed in quality control management at Chief Automotive, Grand Island, Neb. Prior to that, he was employed in that position for several companies. He was predeceased by his mother, Louise; and a sister, Stefanie. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his father, Philip Austin of Hazlet; a son, Daniel of Cranbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Steven Klein of Howell, and Lisa and Robert Frace of Phoenix; his father and mother-in-law, Vincent and Ann Bennett of Holdrege, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.
