Local artists invited to join exhibition at Brookdale

MIDDLETOWN - The Monmouth County Arts Council (MCAC) invites artists to submit work for the 28th Annual Juried Art Show and Sale. The exhibition will run Jan. 27 through March 4, 2007, at the Monmouth Museum, located on the Brookdale Community College campus in the Lincroft section of Middletown. Open to artists in all fine arts/media, age 16 and over, the juried art show is an annual tradition.

Participants can meet fellow artists, view each other's art and take part in the Visual Thinking workshop facilitated by Lorraine Nienela on Feb. 4 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

To enter, complete and submit the entry form and appropriate fee (check, money order or credit card), no later than Jan. 10 to MCAC at 107 Monmouth Street, Suite 3, Red Bank, N.J. 07701. The entry fee is $10 per piece for MCAC members and $15 per piece for non-members. A MCAC membership form is available online at www.monmouthartscouncil.org/membership.php. All fees are non-refundable. There is a maximum of two pieces per artist for the exhibition.

Receiving for the Juried Art Show is at the Monmouth Museum on Jan. 18, from 3-8 p.m. In case of inclement weather, receiving will take place on Jan. 19.

For more information and entry forms, visit www.monmouthartscouncil.org or contact Terri Thomas, Community Arts Director, at tt@monmouthartscouncil.org or (732) 212-1890. Artworks need not be for sale, however, commission rates are modest and benefit the MCAC and the Monmouth Museum.
