John C. Hughes
Mr. Hughes, 58, of Sayreville, died Dec. 10, 2006, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in South River prior to moving to Sayreville in 1975. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of American Legion Post 214, South River. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hughes. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife of 31 years, Antoinette Korobejnyk Hughes; two sisters, Carol Leppig of Sayreville and Marilyn Crosbie of the Leonardo section of Middletown; a brother, Edward Hughes of North Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Dec. 13, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Members of American Legion Post 214 will hold services at 7:30 p.m.
Robert L. White
Mr. White, 89, of Hazlet, died Nov. 30, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he resided in St. Albans, Vt., and Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to relocating to Hazlet in 1960. He was an advertising director at Walworth Valve Co., Valley Forge, Pa., for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a communicant of and choir member at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Mr. White is survived by his wife of 58 years, Muriel M. White; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila A. and Thomas C. Kelly of West Orange, Ellen L. and James F. Foligno of Middletown, and Kathleen M. and Christopher F. Cassandra of Freehold; two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil A. and Athena H. White of Leonia, and Rory J. and Melissa A. White of Hazlet; and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Albans. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Kathleen L. Simon Pavlo
Mrs. Pavlo, 59, of Matawan, died Dec. 8, 2006, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Rahway, she resided there prior to moving to Matawan. She was a secretary at Worthington Pump, Harrison. Mrs. Pavlo is survived by her husband, Michael Pavlo; three brothers, Robert Simon of Florida, Richard Simon of Pennsylvania, and Charles Simon of Manchester; and a sister, Barbara Brunning of Florida. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Kelsey Lin Graham
Kelsey Lin Graham, 14, of Jackson, died Dec. 3, 2006, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born in Long Branch on Jan. 1, 1992. Surviving are her parents, Christine (née Graham) and George Hart; two brothers, Robert Pisano of Jackson and George Hart of Hazlet; a sister, Jessica Hart of Toms River; her grandmother, Joan Graham of Keansburg; nine aunts; six uncles; and 19 cousins. Funeral services were held at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery, also Middletown.
Jeanette M. Albert
Mrs. Albert, 76, of Fair Haven, died Dec. 4, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Irvington, she resided in the Belford section of Middletown prior to moving to Fair Haven 27 years ago. She was employed at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member and past president of the Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Albert was a life member of Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation, and past president of the Red Bank Chapter. Her memberships included the Fair Haven Seniors of which she was co-president, and Atlantic Highlands Garden Club. She was predeceased by three brothers, Freddie, Edward and Michael; and a sister, Anne Wrobel. Mrs. Albert is survived by her husband of 27 years, Harold Albert; a stepson and his wife, Harold R. and Cheryl Albert of Fair Haven; a sister-in-law and her husband, Gertrude and Thomas Williams of Chicago; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James Church. Entombment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Victor “Vic” B. Simmons
Mr. Simmons, 67, of Middletown, died Dec. 4, 2006, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, he resided there, Keansburg, Port-au-Peck, and Rumson prior to relocating to Middletown 28 years ago. He was a carpenter at Shadow Lake Village, Shadow Lake section of Middletown. Prior to that, he was employed at his father’s construction business, at his own business, and as a foreman at Riverview Medical Center. Mr. Simmons was a member of Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233. He enjoyed baseball and golf. He was predeceased by a brother, James Simmons. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Martha “Marti” Simmons; four sons, Sean Simmons of Middletown, Victor Simmons and Charles Simmons of Camden, and John Simmons of Long Branch; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, David and Janis Simmons of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, Tenny and Carol Simmons of Fair Haven, Richard Simmons of Neptune, and Robert and Karen Simmons of Eatontown; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Michael Russello of Brick, Elise and William White of Neptune, and June and Robert Kell of Roseland, Fla.; and five grandchildren. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.
