Emergency services thanked for prompt assistance

At a recent meeting of the Holy Family Holy Name Society (HNS), a member took ill and appeared to be suffering seizures. While we tried to assist him, a call was made to the Union Beach (U.B.) police. In what seemed like a minute or less, Officers Chris Tuberion, Joseph Russo, and Robert Harriott of the U.B. police arrived and immediately took charge.

They repositioned the victim, took vital signs and started rendering assistance. A message must have been relayed to the first aid squad as to what to expect, for shortly after the police, the ambulance and four or five members of the first aid squad arrived and quickly took over. After stabilizing our member, they took him to the hospital.

Chief Mike Kelly and squad leader Chris Lewandowski should be very proud of the rapid response and handling of the situation by their teams. As a resident of U.B., the quick professional response made me proud. All the residents should be equally proud of all our emergency service. On behalf of the HNS, we sincerely appreciate their assistance at our moment of need.
