From the Vault This photo of Lillian Burry appeared in a 1974 issue of the Daily Register. In the 1970s, Burry was the first woman elected to the Matawan Borough Council. Over three decades later in 2005, Burry, now a resident of Colts Neck, became a member of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
