Steven J. Oddo, Hazlet, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, where he is majoring in political science. A graduate of Raritan High School, Hazlet, he is the son of Angela and Ben Oddo.
Theresa Assini, Aberdeen, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at The College of New Jersey, Ewing, where she is majoring in accounting and a member of the dean's honor society. A study by Marie Rinaldi, Holmdel, a third-year student in New Jersey Medical School at University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, Newark, was recently presented at the 77th annual meeting of the American Thyroid Association, Phoenix. The study highlighted the importance of further education for endocrinologists and obstetrician/gynecologists, as well as other doctors, in the research field linking thyroid disease to potential problems with developing fetuses and subsequent newborn babies. Rinaldi's study took more than one year to complete, and she examined several hundred peer-reviewed articles to prepare for the survey.
Sean Gilbert and Brian Meeker have been named the first recipients of the Middletown High School South Football Alumni Association Scholarship 2006. The award was based on the student's athletic, scholastic and service contribution to the community. David Cerchio and Mike Anderson presented the scholarship award to the students at December's Middletown South Annual Football Banquet.
