Mary L. Class Gallery
Mrs. Gallery, 86, of Hazlet, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she resided in Bayonne and the Madison Park section of Old Bridge before moving to Hazlet in 2005. She was employed at Astro Moulding, Old Bridge, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, she was employed at W.T. Grant, Old Bridge. Mrs. Gallery was a life member of Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary since 1956. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1964; and two sons, Edward II, in 1992, and Donald, in 1999. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Maryjayne; a daughter-in-law, Judith Gallery; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.
Veronica M. Ploe Marsdale
Mrs. Marsdale, 78, of Hazlet, died Feb. 23, 2007, at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Carteret before relocating to Hazlet. Before her retirement, Mrs. Marsdale was a secretary at Amaco, Carteret. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Marsdale; a son, Jay Marsdale; and a brother, Charles. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Irene Marsdale of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, Donald and Michele Marsdale of Old Bridge, and Douglas and Carol Marsdale of St. Cloud, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Alys Jindracek
Mrs. Jindracek, 83, of Middletown, died Feb. 17, 2007, at home. Born in New Jersey, she resided in Monmouth County, Vero Beach, Fla., and Marlboro before relocating to the Lincroft section of Middletown 10 years ago. She was a secretary at the Marlboro State Hospital for 15 years, retiring in the early 1980s. Mrs. Jindracek served with the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II. She was predeceased by her husband, Otto, in 1979; and a son, Glen, in 2005. She is survived by a sister, Marie Janwick of Englishtown; and a close friend, Sharon McCormick of Tinton Falls. Burial was at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Arrangements were by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
Sharon A. Jackson
Mrs. Jackson, 54, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 19, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Cliffwood Beach. She was a graduate of Matawan High School and attended Sawyer Business School, Perth Amboy. She was predeceased by her father, Charles Jackson; three brothers, Richard, Barry and Daryl Jackson; and a sister, Theresa Brown. She is survived by a son, Daryl Jackson of Cliffwood Beach; a daughter, Carla Jackson, with whom she resided; her mother, Martha Dixon Jackson of Cliffwood Beach; three brothers, Stewart of Carteret, Charles of Keyport, and Dana of Cliffwood Beach; four sisters, Joann Moore of Matawan, Linda Garraway of Plainfield, Deborah Trent of Rahway, and Charlene Jackson of Asbury Park; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were by Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport.
Inge M. Stinner Borchert
Mrs. Borchert, 73, of Middletown, died Feb. 19, 2007, at home. She was born in Germany. She was a travel agent at Let Yourself Go Travel, Basking Ridge, retiring 20 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, William Borchert, in 1998. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jonathan Jones of Middletown; a son, Roger Borchert of North Plainfield; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Jerome Giovinazzo
Mr. Giovinazzo, 81, of Middletown, died Feb. 18, 2007, at Victoria House, Matawan. Born in Italy, he had resided in Hazlet and in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Middletown. He was a vice president at Community National Bank, Staten Island, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star before being honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Knights of Columbus, and the Staten Island Musicians Society. Mr. Giovinazzo was predeceased by a brother, Martin Giovinazzo. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josephine; two daughters, Angela Giovinazzo of the Belford section of Middletown and Geraldine Traina of Middletown; a sister, Rose Marie Chirichillo of Seaside Heights; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Entombment will follow at Fair View Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements are by John F. Thomas J. Frangipane
Mr. Frangipane, 78, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 15, 2007, in Victoria House, Matawan. He was predeceased by a son, Martin Frangipane. Surviving are his first wife, Concetta Diana of East Brunswick, and his second wife, Rose Lupo of Old Bridge; two daughters, Rosemary Hogen, and her husband, Alfred, and Dina Roventini, and her husband, Albert, all of Old Bridge; a sister, Nancy Filleppello of Chatham; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Clover Leaf Park, Woodbridge.
Norma Cohen
Mrs. Cohen, 80, of Holmdel, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Care One at Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Delray Beach, Fla., and Manalapan before relocating to Holmdel. She was an office manager at Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., retiring in 1980. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Daniel Cohen; a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Louis Bogdanoff of Manalapan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Florrie Cohen, and Erik and Michele Cohen, all of Reston, Va., and Joel and Stacey Cohen of Chappaqua, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Interment was at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
James M. Rooney
Mr. Rooney, 58, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Feb. 6, 2007, at St. James Hospital, Newark. Born in Jersey City, he resided there prior to relocating to Belford in 1976. He was a jet turbine mechanic at PSE&G, Newark, for several years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Rooney; a son and daughter-in-law, Ian and Kristin Rooney of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; and a brother, Patrick Rooney of Maine. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Anna "Ann" H. Hencoski Kircher
Mrs. Kircher, 91, of Holmdel, died Feb. 20, 2007, at Victoria Health Care, Matawan. Born in Newark, she resided there prior to relocating to Holmdel in 1974. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Mrs. Kircher is survived by her husband, Charles Kircher; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Cecelia Kircher of East Brunswick; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and David Hatcher of Freehold; a brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Alice Hencoski of Holmdel; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict's Church. Interment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Yvonne Iheley Koenig
Miss Koenig, 71, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born in South Amboy, she resided in Old Bridge the past 48 years. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Old Bridge. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Walter B. Placzek of Matawan; a nephew; a niece; a great-niece; and a great-nephew. A funeral service was held at Church of the Good Shepherd. Interment was at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Arrangements were by The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.
Mary Sardella Hyer Heaton
Mrs. Heaton, 86, of Keyport, died Feb. 19, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Hartford, Conn., she was raised in Matawan. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hazlet. She was a volunteer telephone dispatcher for the Keyport First Aid Squad Auxiliary, where she was a past president. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Heaton was predeceased by her first husband, Stanley L. Hyer; her second husband, Earl Heaton; two sisters, Margaret Sardella and Clara Gentile; and four brothers, Charles, Michael, Joseph and John Sardella. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol M. and John Bambrick of Matawan; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold William and Barbara Hyer of Hazlet; a sister, Judith Genovese of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Sardella of Sayreville, Jennie Sardella of Hazlet, and Verna Lehman Dering of Egg Harbor City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at St. John's Church. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
