Parking ticket leaves train rider cold

On Feb. 15, the day after the Valentine's Day ice storm, my husband dropped me off at the Aberdeen train station at 8:50 a.m. to make the 9:10 train to Penn Station. I was very anxious to make the train because my mother was scheduled for an open-heart operation at NYU Medical Center. There was a lot of snow and ice so I was dropped off in a spot where it was clear to walk.

As I was embarking from the car, a police vehicle pulled up behind us. I found out later that my husband was issued a parking ticket for dropping me off in a no-standing zone - I called Aberdeen Township to protest, and was politely told "too bad." I asked if I went to court to plead "not guilty" would I have to pay court fees - he did not know. I truly believe this ticket was given arbitrarily - if I tripped on the ice at the station, oh well! Thanks for reading my little story of suburban township ripoff.
