Keyport commended for efforts in storm

I would like to express my gratitude to Councilman George Walling, Superintendent George Sappah and the men of the Public Works Department for their diligence in the handling of the terrible ice storm recently. This was the worst storm of its kind in many years.

It was particularly gratifying to see the front-end loader and dump truck activity in the business district, the lifeblood of our town. As a lifelong resident, I try to shop and do business in town as much as possible. Feb. 20, I was able to make stops at the post office, bank, hardware store and take some items to the food pantry. It made me feel good to be "downtown." Please recognize these men for their efforts.

George E. Henn
