Short is a new, honest, fresh face on the block

I applaud Committeeman Patrick Short for questioning the price of a new TV for the Crossroads at Croydon program ("Committeeman gives TV buy a bad reception," Feb. 28). As I understand the issue, he did not question the need for one but the need to shop for the best price.

I don't feel that Mr. Short has a problem with Crossroads program as the other members of the Township Committee seem to suggest. I think that his being the only Democrat on this committee has something to do with the disagreement. Mr. Short did say that he was able to find the same TV available for less money. Is there something wrong with that?

The point here is that there is finally someone on the Township Committee who is particular about taxpayer dollars. For the first time in 20 years, the "chain has been broken." There is a new, honest, fresh face on the block. Welcome, Mr. Short.

Oh yeah, I am a Republican.
