Shardea Brown, Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Temple University, Philadelphia, where she is majoring in education. She is also a member of the student government, and a "Get Smart" tutor, and Owl ambassador tour guide. A 2003 graduate of Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School, Aberdeen, she is the daughter of Lisa and Charles Brown.
Megan E. Kiefer, Middletown, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Fairfield (Conn.) University, A marketing and business management major, she is the daughter of Mary Lou and Gregg Kiefer.
Megan N. Vogelsang, Aberdeen, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Rowan University, Glassboro, where she is majoring in business administration. A graduate of Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School, Aberdeen, she is the daughter of Margaret and Norman Vogelsang.

Middletown resident Jillian Gaeta, a senior at Lafayette University, Easton, Pa., has been accepted to participate in the Teach for America program next year. College graduates in the program commit for two years to teach in urban and rural public schools in the low-income communities. An international affairs and French double major, Gaeta will teach at an elementary school in New York City. She founded Lafayette's chapter of Amnesty International, is president of Alternative School Break and a member of student government. A graduate of Allied Academy of Health and Sciences, Neptune, she is the daughter of Jeanne and the late Matthew Gaeta.
Julianne C. Burok, Matawan, received a silver Frank O'Hara Medal from the Panuska College of Professional Studies at the University of Scranton. Medals were presented to first-, second-, and third-year students with the highest GPA in each of the university's four colleges. Burok is a four-year student at Panuska College.
