'Wool Days/Sheep Shearing' April 28

The Monmouth County Park System will hold "Wool Days/Sheep Shearing" April 28 and 29 from noon to 3 p.m. at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel (rain or shine).

The free event will include sheep shearing, demonstrations by sheep-herding dogs, wagon rides to the nearby Holmes-Hendrickson House, and wool spinning and weaving demonstrations. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

A teapots workshop will be April 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at Thompson Park Craft Center, Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown. cost is $45 for the course taught by local artist Bryan Quincannon. The class is suitable for novice to advanced students, and will offer an in-depth look at the components of teapots and how to make components work together.
