Exhibit to show Europe from Hazlet man's lens

Photo from Alan Leckner exhibit at Mitchell Sanborn Gallery
Alan Leckner, Hazlet, will have his first exhibition of photojournalism at The Mitchell Sanborn Gallery in Keyport from May 19 to June 9.

The show, consisting of 70 images culled from 4,000 photographs taken on a recent trip to Eastern Europe, tells a story of life, death and regeneration. Leckner traveled through Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, taking images of death camps, families, lovers, museums and cemeteries.

A reception for the artist will be from 5-7 p.m. on May 19; members of the public are welcome to attend. On May 31 at 6 p.m., Leckner will present a digital slide show featuring over 300 images. He will answer questions about photography and his trip. Mitchell Sanborn Gallery is located at 46 W. Front St., Keyport. For more information, call (732) 888-0048, or visit www.mitchellsanborngallery.com. The gallery is open noon-4 p.m. on weekends, 5-7 p.m. on Thursdays, and by appointment.
