Obituaries Gladys Wickham Mrs. Wickham, 75, of Jackson, died April 6, 2007. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Nicolasa and Francisco Maldonado, she grew up in Brooklyn and had lived in Hazlet, Kentucky, Japan and Newark before settling in Jackson in 1956. She moved to Starke, Fla., in 2002 for a brief stay and then returned to Jackson to rejoin her growing family. Mrs. Wickham held positions at several companies, including RCA, Westinghouse and Paco Manufacturing. She retired in 1997 from her husband's construction business, A-All-In-One Services, Jackson. She served as president of both the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the AMVETS Post 2 Ladies Auxiliary, as well as den mother to Cub Scouts Pack 28, all of Jackson. She was also a member of the Jackson and New Jersey Jayceettes. Mrs. Wickham was predeceased by two sisters, Ramona and Jeanette. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Kenneth G. Wickham Sr.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Jan Wickham, Keith Wickham, and Kevin and Susan Wickham, all of Jackson; a sister, Frances of Freehold; a brother, Robert of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren, along with two of their spouses; six great-grandchildren, with a seventh on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Jackson, with the procession to Cassville Cemetery led by the Cassville Volunteer Fire Company.
Agnes Kinney Cleary Mrs. Cleary, 98, of Middletown, died April 9 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newry, County Down, Ireland, she came to the United States in 1930. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, James Brendan Cleary; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dominic DiFalco, and Ann and Edward Golding; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Donna Marie Pace Regina Mrs. Regina, 56, of Middletown, died May 1, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she relocated to Middletown 25 years ago. She was a project manager at Parade of Shoes, Holmdel. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Pace. Mrs. Regina is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Regina Sr.; two daughters, Vivian Attanasio and Lisa Regina; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Doreen Regina Jr.; two brothers, Daniel and Victor Pace; and a grandson. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Entombment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Connolly Mr. Connolly, 84, of Middletown, and Stuart, Fla., died May 1,2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. born in Newark, he had been a resident of Middletown since 1956. Before his retirement in 1980, Mr. Connolly was a procurement agent with the U.S. Army, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a first lieutenant during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Florence Creeden, in 1998; and a sister, Mary Kutchman. Mr. Connolly is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles and Joni Connolly of Clearwater, Fla., Marc J. Connolly of Highlands, and Matthew D. and Xiaowei Connolly of Albany, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen E. and David Merker of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Barbara A. Cagliari Valenti Mrs. Valenti, 60, of the Belford section of Middletown, died May 2, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, following a battle with cancer. Born in New York City, she resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., prior to relocating to Belford 32 years ago. She was a legal secretary for several attorneys in Monmouth County, most recently for Brian M. Duncan, Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Valenti in 1991; and her mother, Beatrice Mossey in 1987. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Frank and Kelly Valenti of Holmdel, and Thomas Valenti of Middletown; her father and stepmother, John and Minnie Cagliari of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Tony Santoro of Middletown, and Susan and Fred Pompa of Belle Mead. Emil Louis Jakubecy Mr. Jakubecy, 91, of Gastonia, N.C., died April 9, 2007, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. He resided in Little Silver, Fair Haven and Middletown prior to relocating to Gastonia. He was vice president at Commercial Investment Trust, New York City, retiring after 42 years. He was a former communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a life member of Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233, member of Fair Haven Lions Club, member of the Fair Haven Fire Department for more than 50 years, former president of Fair Haven Board of Education, and Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 24, Fair Haven. He was predeceased by his first wife of 32 years, Anna Sinica Jakubecy; his wife of 35 years, Edna Handley Jakubecy in 2006; and two brothers, Carl and Bill. He is survived by two sons, James J. of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Richard E. of Dunwoody, Ga.; a stepson, Tim Strachan of Holmdel; a stepdaughter, Susan Palmer of Lakewood; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Entombment was at Fair View Cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Joseph Madorma Mr. Madorma, 52, of Hazlet, died May 6, 2007, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to relocating to Hazlet 20 years ago. He was a printer at Command Web, Secaucus, for 10 years, retiring 10 years ago. He was also employed in maintenance for the Monmouth County Vocational Technical School, Keyport. He was a member of the American Pool Association. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Madorma; a son, Vincent Madorma of Hazlet; a daughter, Lauren Madorma of Hazlet; a brother and sister-in-law, Dominick and Susan Madorma of Mountainside; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be May 9 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Helen F. Meehan Mrs. Meehan, 95, of Middletown, died May 4, 2007, at Brighton Gardens, Middletown. Born in New York City, she resided in Union City, Morristown and Madison, prior to relocating to Middletown. She was a receptionist at Sisters of Charity at St. Elizabeth's, Convent Station, retiring at age 75. She was an active parishioner at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Madison, where she started the school's cafeteria program, and Mother's Guild and served as its first president. She also began the church's Altar Society, and religious article shop. She was a supporter of the Sister Miriam Teresa League, and member of several business organizations. She was predeceased by her husband, James M. Meehan; and a son, James H. Meehan. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Feury of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown; a daughter-in-law, Linda Fulcher of Scotch Plains; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral liturgy will be May 9 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. Donald Klochak Mr. Klochak, 72, of Sun City, Ariz., died April 25, 2007, at home. Born in Pennsylvania, he resided in Parlin prior to retiring to Sun City, Ariz., in 1996. Before his retirement, he was an employee of Pathmark, East Brunswick. Mr. Klochak served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 2229, Old Bridge. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Klochak, in 2005. Surviving are two sons, Donald Klochak Jr. of Tennessee and David Klochak of Pennsylvania; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Timothy O'Neill of Matawan; a sister, Rose Bernardo of Bellevernon, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Kathleen M. Reilly Larson Mrs. Larson, 74, of Hazlet, died April 25, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she had been a resident of Hazlet for the past 33 years. Mrs. Larson was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Larson, in 2006; three brothers; and a sister. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Nathan S. Hale III of Eatontown, and Ann-Marie and Aleksander Naeris of Hoboken; and a granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Christopher Curran Mr. Curran, 30, of Keyport, died April 29, 2007, in Pleasantville. Born in Red Bank, he had resided in Waretown before relocating to Keyport two years ago. Mr. Curran was a union lineman with Local 456. He is survived by his parents, Don and Patricia May Curran Sr. of St. Augustine, Fla.; and two brothers, Don Curran Jr. of Houston and Keith Curran of St. Augustine.
