'Blessing of the Fleet' slated for June 1 Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club, Simon Lake Drive, will host the annual "Blessing of the Fleet" June 1. The procession of boats will begin at 1 p.m. Dozens of boats dressed in a display of flags will circle the harbor and pass by the dock to receive the blessing along with salutes from the officers of the club with a sounding of a cannon. The blessing will be offered by the Rev. Joyce Smothers of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Highlands. All local boaters are invited to join the procession.
