On Campus

Josephine Ambruzs, Middletown, received a doctor of medicine degree and the Bruce Fisher Award at the spring commencement exercises at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick.

Vincent Solomeno, Hazlet, received a degree in political science, magna cum laude at the spring commencement exercises at the University of Scranton, Pa. Solomeno was also awarded a 2007 Fulbright Fellowship in political science and will pursue a master's degree in European studies at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A dean's list student, he is a distinguished military graduate of the university's ROTC, a 2006 Truman Scholar, and a member of the National Jesuit Honor Society Alpha Sigma Nu.

Melissa Beth Zampella, Middletown, received a bachelor of arts degree in history and elementary education at the spring commencement exercises at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., where she was also named to the dean's list. A 2003 graduate of Middletown High School South, she is the daughter of Susan and Arnold Zampella.

Christie Marie Barbato, Aberdeen, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Marywood University, Scranton, Pa., where she is majoring in advertising and public relations. A 2004 graduate of Matawan Regional High School, Aberdeen, she is the daughter of Rosemary and John Barbato.

Aberdeen resident Joseph Centimole was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Monmouth University, West Long Branch.

Edmund Jerome Greco III, Holmdel, was named to the dean's list for the winter term at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., where he is a sophomore.

Lauren A. Igneri, Aberdeen, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Rutgers University, Piscataway, where she is in the Honors Program pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. She is also a volunteer research assistant at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, working with patients diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. A 2004 graduate of Matawan Regional High School, she is the daughter of Leslie and Ron Igneri.

Lauren Tolleth, Holmdel, a member of the class of 2007 at Loyola College, Baltimore, has been elected for membership in Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.

The Woman's Club of Middletown has announced Samantha Burd, a Middletown High School North graduating senior, has been selected as the 2007 recipient of the club's annual Marion E. Andrews Educational Scholarship. Burd will pursue a career in sound design at Drexel University, Philadelphia, in the fall. She has served as the head sound technician for Middletown High School North's productions for several years.

Daniel John Bryant, Leonardo section of Middletown, received a bachelor of science degree in business administration: management science at the spring commencement exercises at Averett University, Danville, Va.

Donald J. Norbut Jr., Aberdeen, received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering at the spring commencement exercises at Rutgers University School of Engineering, New Brunswick. He is the son of Mary and Donald Norbut.

Berkeley College has announced the following local students who received degrees during the spring commencement exercises:

Julio Bradshaw, Middletown, a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Garret Mountain campus, West Paterson;

Elaine Britt, Holmdel, a bachelor's degree in business administration from Garret Mountain campus;

Sheryl Colacichi, Middletown, a bachelor's degree in business administration-management from the New York City Midtown campus;

Monica Reyes, Matawan, an associate's degree in business administration-information system management from the New York City Midtown campus;

Rengin Valentin, Hazlet, a bachelor's degree in business administration-marketing from Garret Mountain campus; and

Terri Zirino, Holmdel, a bachelor's degree in business administration from Garret Mountain campus.
