Marie K. Findeis Borello

Mrs. Borello, 48, of the Belford section of Middletown, died June 3, 2007, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Middletown most of her life. Mrs. Borello was a homemaker. She was a parishioner at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, where she was active in parish and school activities. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Findeis. She is survived by her husband, George Borello; a daughter, Ashley Borello of Belford; her mother, Patricia Findeis; three sisters, Cindy Stover of Florida, Patty Parfet of Woodbridge, and Tracy Kingman of North Branch; and three brothers, Randy Findeis of Connecticut, and Brian Findeis and Frank Findeis, both of Pennsylvania. Visitation will be held June 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be held June 7 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9:15 a.m. at St. Ann's Church. Burial will take place at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Lawrence A. Carton III

Mr. Carton, 69, of Middletown, died June 1, 2007, at home. He was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He was a lawyer in his own firm, Carton and Associates, Middletown, which he began in 1974. Prior to that, he was a partner at the firm of Roberts, Pillsbury and Carton. He also served as a municipal court judge in New Shrewsbury, and Old Bridge, and as a planning board attorney in Middletown since 1987. He was a sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard. His memberships included the Monmouth County Mental Health Association of which he was a former president, American Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, and Monmouth County Municipal Court Judge Association. He is survived by his wife, Ann Bradley; a son, Lawrence A. Carton IV; two daughters, Catherine Rudnick and Jessica Carton; two brothers, Peter and Timothy; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be June 6 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Rumson. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

Lorraine J. Foley

Mrs. Foley, 69, of Middletown, died June 4, 2007, at home. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Hazlet prior to relocating to Middletown 13 years ago. She was an assembler at Charles of the Ritz, Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1987; three sisters, Mildred Park, Pat Stuart and Delta Stuart; and two brothers, Raymond and Roy Stuart. She is survived by four daughters, Debbie Smith and Kathleen Hoth, both of Highlands, and Kelly Foley and Melissa Foley, both of Middletown; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Adrianne Foley of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, and Charles Foley of Middletown; two sisters, Lynn Newby of Jersey City, and Carolann Bennedetti of Point Pleasant; a brother, Al Stuart of Rutherford; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be June 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be June 7 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Herbert U. Caravella Jr.

Mr. Caravella, 78, of Marlboro, died June 3, 2007, at Veterans Administration Lyons Hospital, Lyons. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Irvington, Aberdeen and Freehold prior to relocating to Marlboro four years ago. He was an electrical worker at Westinghouse, Union, and a maintenance worker at Bell Labs, Holmdel. He served with the U.S. Army and was wounded during combat during the Korean Conflict, and received the Purple Heart. He was a past member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4745, Cliffwood section of Aberdeen. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Caravella in 1989. He is survived by a son, Herbert U. Caravella III of Marlboro; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be June 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A funeral service will be June 7 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.

Genevieve Rehbein Ostervich

Mrs. Ostervich, 83, of Union Beach, died May 24, 2007, at home. She was born in Jersey City. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Ostervich Sr. in 1991. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Albert and Alice Ostervich Jr., Robert and Joanne Ostervich, and David Ostervich, all of Union Beach, and Edward and Beverly Ostervich of Braymer, Mo.; a brother, Edward Rehbein of Keyport; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

Pasquale R. Vaccaro

Mr. Vaccaro, 97, of Middletown, died June 2, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in Asbury Park. He was employed at Dearborn Farms, Holmdel, for 25 years, retiring in 2004. Prior to that, he was employed at Old Wagon Farm, Holmdel, from 1975-79; and was a horticulturist and foreman for the City of New York, Department of Parks, for 37 years, retiring in 1975. He was a communicant of St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Siciliano Vaccaro in 2003; a son, Martin Vaccaro in 2004; and a brother, Antonio Vaccaro in 1996. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Walter Olson of Middletown; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be June 6 at 9 a.m. at St. Catharine's Church. Burial will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. Arrangements are by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1818, Memphis, TN 38105; or Monmouth Center for vocational Rehabilitation, 15 Meridian Road, Eatontown 07724.

Jeanne Schreck

Mrs. Schreck, 87, of Silvermead, Freehold Township, died May 25, 2007, at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Wilmington, Del., and had lived in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island, N.Y., and Marlboro before moving to Silvermead. Prior to retiring in 1987, Mrs. Schreck was the director of volunteers for Freehold Area Hospital (now CentraState Medical Center) for 17 years. She had previously been the hospital's first secretary to the administrator. She was a member of the American Society of Directors of Volunteer Services and the New Jersey Association Directors of Volunteer Services. She was also a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, Marlboro, as well as a member and past president of the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Schreck was predeceased by her husband, Vincent A., in 2000; a son, Vincent George, in 2001; two brothers, Edward and Robert Beauchamp; and a sister, Betty Dilks. Surviving are a daughter, Lynda Jeanne Curcio of Freehold Township; six grandchildren and their spouses, Cynthia and Dr. Allen Ongsiako of Holmdel, Andrea and William Clauser of Point Pleasant, Ellyn and David Dobson of Howell, Debra and George Leonge of West Windsor, and John Curcio and Leanne and Brian Cook, all of Freehold; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold, with the Rev. Frank Hebert officiating. Internment was private, with the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, 08902; or the American Lung Association of New Jersey, 1600 Route 22 East, Union 07083-3407.
