The Colts Select baseball club, out of Middletown, won the 13U division of the Memorial Day Beach Blast Tournament in Little Silver, with a perfect 6-0 record. The team displayed excellent defense, allowing just nine runs the entire tournament. After going 4-0 in the pool play games on Saturday and Sunday, the team moved on to the Monday playoff round as the top seed. In the semifinals, the Colts defeated the Central Jersey Slammers, 6-3, and then went on to the finals, where they defeated the Elite Hurricanes by a score of 6-2.

In addition to their success at the Beach Blast, they also won the South Brunswick and Cheesquake Tournaments earlier this spring. The team will continue to play in local tournaments and eventually hopes to qualify for a bid to a national AAU or USSSA event in July. The Colts' record this spring stands at 19-1-1.

On Wednesday, May 30, the St. Joseph School Shamrockettes beat St. Leo the Great to win the Northern Monmouth Parochial Girls Softball Championship.

The players are Kailee Richards, Brianna Burlew, Erin Leach, Katelyn Kwiecinski, Annie Daly, Erin McKeown, Kylie Raber, Molly Dolan, Felicia Lewis, Edith Duggan, Zoe Otterman and Megan Dolan.
