Holmdel candidates to kick off campaign June 15

Holmdel Democrats Janet Berk and Mike Sockol will hold a kickoff for the candidates' Township Committee campaign June 15 at 7 p.m. at an Ashlee Drive residence. Holmdel residents regardless of political affiliation are invited to attend. The event will feature refreshments, and music by acoustic artists Daniel and Noah Rauchwerk and violinist Edward Beckenstein.

K of C Father's Day breakfast June 17

Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph's Council 3402, 54 Route 35 north, Keyport, will hold a Father's Day breakfast - family style June 17 from 8:30-11 a.m. The menu will feature omelets, eggs, French toast, pancakes and other items. Cost is $5, $4 for seniors and children younger than age 10, and free for children younger than age 5.

Association to present awards to three students

Matawan Italian American Association will present three $1,000 scholarship awards at a reception June 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Yesterday's Restaurant, Hazlet.

Recipients are grandchildren of current members of the Association. Stephanie Lauren Frank is the granddaughter of Rose Scalzo. She will graduate from Avon High School, Connecticut, and will pursue a career in business at Purdue University, Hammond, Ind.

Connilee Ocello, granddaughter of John Ocello, will graduate from Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School, Aberdeen. She will pursue a career in cosmetology at Monmouth County Vocational School.

Frank R. Sullivan Jr. is the grandson of Connie Sullivan. He will receive his diploma from Middletown High School South, and pursue a career in business.
