Applications now taken for artistic fellowships

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation has announced the availability of 2008 New Jersey State Council on the Arts individual artist fellowship guidelines and applications, with deadline for submission July 16 at 11:59 p.m.

The Council on the Arts will hold technical assistance workshops to detail the process for applying for fellowships. A workshop will be June 20 at Noyes Museum, 733 Lily Lake Road, Oceanville; and June 21 at Jersey City Museum, 350 Montgomery St. All workshops are from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Funding is available in the categories of choreography, design, emerging and new genres - visual arts, media, music composition, painting and works on paper. To be eligible, individuals must be an artist in one of the disciplines offered and be a permanent New Jersey resident. Fellowships are awarded on the basis of artistic excellence and not other merits associated with a project or other factors. If any special accommodations are required to file a fellowship application, applicants should call the Foundation.

For an application, visit www.njartscouncil.org or call (410) 359-6656, ext. 114.
