Karen Scaturo, RNC, Hazlet, minimum data set (MDS) coordinator at Clara Maass Continuing Care Center, Belleville, has received a Best Practice Award in Clinical Assessment from the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC). Scaturo has been the MDS coordinator at the facility for more than 10 years.
Aileen Chen, M.D., Holmdel, has received a three-year appointment as cancer liaison physician for the cancer program at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Cancer liaison physicians are an integral part of cancer programs approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. She is among a national network of approximately 1,600 volunteer physicians responsible for providing leadership and direction to establish, maintain and support the facility's cancer program. Chen is a member of the Multidisciplinary Cancer Committee at Bayshore.
The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Central Jersey Chapter will present three awards at its dinner meeting June 21 from 6-9 p.m. at the Nauvoo Grill Club, 121 Fair Haven Road, Fair Haven.
Sylvia Allen of Allen Consulting, Holmdel, will received the Business Owner of the Year Award. The annual award recognizes the accomplishments of one outstanding woman entrepreneur who has used creative initiatives to overcome obstacles, create jobs, grow a successful business, and help the community. Suzanne Pease of Ampersand Graphics, Marlboro, will be honored with the Member of the Year Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of one outstanding NAWBO member who has worked to practice, innovate and create effective changes by supporting and establishing presence for NAWBO.

Dunphy's Training Center, Eatontown, has opened a second facility at 300 Broad St., Red Bank. The facilities are owned by Bernadette and Phil Dunphy, DPT (doctorate in physical therapy). The new center is dedicated solely to physical therapy programs and treatment for clients requiring rehabilitation due to injuries or health-related issues. It also includes sport-specific training with core stabilization and balance/agility training, therapeutic exercise, neuro-balance training, hand therapy, mat Pilates and tai chi.
Marc D. Policastro, Little Silver, has joined the firm of Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, Middletown, as a shareholder. A member of the firm's environmental and land-use practice areas, he concentrates his practice in development, environmental compliance cases, transactional matters, land use, zoning and business counseling. Policastro is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and Monmouth County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. Policastro received a bachelor of science degree in business administration at the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business University of Richmond, Va. He received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark, where he received the Raymond del Tufo Award for highest achievement in constitutional law.
Lisa A. McConahy, Matawan, has joined the engineering firm of Maser Consulting, Red Bank, as an architectural historian in its cultural resources department. Prior to joining the firm, she was a graduate assistant at the Center for Historic Preservation, Muncie, Ind., and was also employed at Winchester (Ind.) Main Street. McConahy is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Preservation Action. She received her master of science degree in historical preservation at Ball State University, Muncie, and her bachelor of arts degree in history at Clarion (Pa.) University.
