Concerts, beach parties slated in Middletown The Middletown Parks and Recreation Department has announced the summer concert schedule, beginning with The Infernos June 21. All concerts are held from 7 to 9 p.m. Rocksplosion will perform July 5, and the Harry James Orchestra will perform July 19. The Mahoney Brothers will be in concert Aug. 2, and the series ends with The New Brooklyn Reunion Aug. 16. The concerts are free to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will move to Middletown High School South, Nutswamp Road. Recreation will hold two beach parties, for Middletown residents only. A party at Ideal Beach in the North Middletown section will be held June 28, and a party will also be held July 12 at Leonardo Beach, Leonardo section of Middletown. Parties are from 6-9 p.m. and feature games, dancing, and music provided by a DJ. There will also be activities and prizes for children. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided for the first hour. Attendees should bring a beach chair or towel. For more information, call the Recreation Dept. at (732) 615-2260.
