'Canoe Carnival' in Matawan June 23 The Matawan Alliance will present the second annual "Canoe Carnival" June 23 from noon to 3 p.m. at Lake Lefferts, Ravine Drive, Matawan (rain date is June 24). The event will feature canoe and kayak races, food, music, children's activities and other activities. Races begin at noon, and the top four race times are eligible for the grand prix finale race with a $100 cash prize.
