Obituaries

Robert E. Peterson

Mr. Peterson, 54, of Marlboro, died June 5, 2007. He owned and operated Solar Interiors Inc. in his hometown, Matawan. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Peterson was predeceased by his father, Ernest R. Peterson, in 1968; and his mother, Helen DeLoskey-Peterson, in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Janice Gawley-Peterson; two sons, Chad Peterson of Matawan and Robert Peterson of Marlboro; two daughters, Corrie and Elizabeth Peterson, both of Marlboro; a sister, Louise Webster, and her husband, John, of Matawan; and two nieces. Funeral services were held at the Waitt-Neims Funeral Home, Morganville section of Marlboro, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

Joseph T. Simoniello

Mr. Simoniello, 62, of Hazlet, died June 12, 2007, at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Holmdel, Red Bank, and the West Keansburg section of Hazlet prior to relocating to Hazlet six years ago. He was an electrical engineer at AT&T, Short Hills, and for several other companies, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Jaycees, Holmdel, and a past member of the Free & Accepted Masons, and the Knights of Columbus, both Red Bank. He was a mentor at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark. Mr. Simoniello is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rosalie Auriemma Simoniello; a son, Paul Simoniello of Holmdel; a daughter, Denise Aquinas of Colts Neck; a stepdaughter, Sharon Roberts of Keyport; two stepsons, William Swartz of Parlin and James Swartz IV of Old Bridge; and 13 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
